  • When Benny Shaps says it, I think it's about winning an argument but it's so hard to tell. I can imagine some people living in their bubble for so long that they start believing their own crap.

  • Millennial here. I went back to Canada to help my brother raise his kids. They're autistic and he's a shit parent (I don't normally judge parents but when you wake up at 4pm on a weekend when your kid wakes up at 6am and I'm needing to come from another country to help ... then yes, I get to say that).

When I got back there my brother told me I could buy his house (which I did). He was upping his own home and he said we could sell the parents house and downsize them to upsize his own house.

My brother then said that my mom and dad don't want another house and they're just LIVING in "my" house now. I'm getting guilt and shit all the fucking time. My brother took a majority of the sale of my parents house so he's mortgage free in a huge house now.

I'm single in my 40s and now I'm waiting to see my retired parents die. It's slowly killing me.

  • Not gonna lie, I wouldn't know how to manage seeing a guy use a grinder on some bikes.

I wanted a folding bike for this purpose but it would only be good for going to work and back. I can't just walk around a mall or something carrying a folding bike :/

  • Yeah, I didn't see the use for them until I got further into it over just cloning. Your worktree "folders" share the same git history and stuff. So you can stash in one and apply in the other. If you do a fetch in one, it fetches for all of them.

Whether it's worth it for others to learn these just for those things is hard to say. I picked it up simply because I was bored and wanted to pick up a new "thing".

  • Watching all these C grade students take over is so annoying.

It'd be actually interesting if they all weren't so intellectually dishonest as well as stupid.

  • What's wrong with a piece of fabric that you walk on all the time that you (almost) never wash? /s

  • That'd be a hilarious tramp stamp.

  • Most social media stuff.

Omg did you hear X did Y?

I guess I'm just old but I don't follow most. Even with dogpiling PirateSoftware. Yes, he's wrong and probably lied. I just don't get the hype around it. I'm happy that the hype led to Stop Killing Games getting enough traction though, that was nice.

  • I have never heard of this. Thank you so much!

  • I meant that the fans were annoying as fuck. I think my post was to highlight that I enjoyed the episodes but hated the fans that came out of it.

Trey and Matt aren't like climate scientists or whatever, they're comedy writers with a political edge. Even if they're blatantly wrong with their commentary I don't really blame them. It's that we take them too seriously.

  • I'm an extrovert and I love seeing people and I make plans that people bail on all the time. Almost always last minute.

At the same time, I kinda get it. There's a lot of build up and expectation to do stuff and it feels like a relief to no longer be obliged to do.

  • The anti-climate change, pro-Walmart, pro-Starbucks whatever-era was annoying as fuck. Like you said, it's not directly South Park but their annoying fans taking their shit too seriously.

Internet threads talking about climate change had some "man bear big" bullshit going around.

The thing is that I watched South Park during that time too and I loved a lot of the episodes. I just didn't take their commentary too seriously. I'm just like, "well they're obviously wrong". I was a Richard Dawkins fan and had no problem with them skewering him at the time either.

  • Wasn't the "DC Madam" that ran a prostitution ring in DC for the politicians and such "Epsteined" too?

I don't believe she suicided herself, but whatever.

  • I think it's because religions, cults, sports teams or whatever have community. Community comes with shared identities and beliefs. Nobody wants to be outcasted or shunned. So you follow along. Your friends are there, your family is there ... they all believe the same thing.

  • It's not fair!

  • I agree, this guy was a twat!

I'm j/king. People change all the time, it's okay to acknowledge that.
