Safeway (also referred to as Canada Safeway) is a Canadian supermarket chain that operates 135 full-service locations, mostly in the country's Western provinces. It was established in 1929 as a subsidiary of the American Safeway chain before being sold in 2013 to Sobeys, a division of the conglomerate Empire Company and Canada's second-largest supermarket chain. Though independent from the American company, it continues to use the Safeway name and logo as of April 2025.
Only some of them. For example, a few years I went through a period of reading all the fiction I could find by Isaac Asimov, and then Heinlein. I distinctly remember the plot of Asimov’s Nightfall and some of the scenes. I remember a select few plots and scenes from some of the many short stories, but can’t reliably recall even which of those two authors they were from, let alone which story or book. Others are just dust in the wind.
I have a very good memory for many things, but a book plot just isn’t something my mind has felt is necessary to retain. Like another poster said, I read for the escape, not as a learning experience.
…and the Peace Prize medal gets the winner’s name engraved on the edge. I really wonder if that medal in the frame still has her name on it, or if he went full-petty and had it scrubbed off and his name engraved instead.
The names of the chemistry, medicine, literature and physics prize recipients are engraved on the reverse of the medal on a small plate. The names of the peace and economic prize recipients are engraved on the edges of their medals.
