  • They arent really trying to make the site unusable with adblocker they are trying to bypass adblockers which is fundamentally different. And they gave up months ago theyll go at it again sure but for now they arent doing much about it. If they trully wanted to just disallow adblockers they could and it would be trivial, there are plenty of websites that do it certainly google could figure it out but they dont because that would push away a subtantial number of users and clearly those users are still worth having even if they are not seeing ads, presumably because of the data they are still harvesting and the numbers number of users and the word of mouth.

    anyways maybe u should stop licking the boots of fucking google of all companies and make a real argument against adblockers like that it actually meaningfully hurts smaller websites, because not only would i not give a shit if youtube went under somehow i would be fucking dancing in its grave.

  • i mean im all for letting people approach drugs as they please but, someone smoking weed once in a while with some frinds is not the same as massive corporations flooding media as specifically media for children with propaganda to get them addicted to nicotine.   • Its one of those things u never think about as a person without disabilities, cuz i can tell the difference just fine, i guess they should have consulted someone with a vision impairment when considering stuff like this.

  • apple was never cheaper than their competition, and when IBM got into PCs they were also not even comparable in quality anymore. Reality is that even in the early days apples was also more expensive and they relied on a dedicated fan base to sell their trash, to be fair they sorta earned their reputation in the super early PC space with actually good products but when IBM came in, it had better PCs at lower prices and apple was basically riding on pure brand power. Then they had a few good hits with the ipad and later the iphone (tho the ipad was not as significant at the time as people seem to think it was looking back) and now they have been entirely eclipsed when it comes to phones and are once again reliant on hype and brand recognition.

    It is not a unique history by any means but i feel it is especially egregious considering just how shit apple products are and how expensive they are.
