  • I know for cake mixes, at least, they add some chemicals that improve the texture and moisture retention of the cake. It's stuff you'd never find in the baking isle, but it improves the resulting cake so much that many professional cake bakers just use the box mix. They have access to the same food suppliers and would just end up duplicating the work of giant conglomerates research.

  • I agree. All fiction was written in the past and enjoyed in the past. If there is an article about it on a wiki, it should be written past tense by default.

    This is how I talk about fiction in daily life as well. Unless I am currently enjoying the story with a friend of something, I dont talk about fictional characters in the present tense.

    Im happy to talk about how Spock* is* the coolest guy on the bridge while im watching TOS, and Superman wasn't as cool as I was hoping ( if I had watched the movie, like even a week ago).

They look like they're just trying to make sure they each individually get to keep their seat. If that's in a sham legislature, that's fine for them. Bribes might be legal soon, so they're getting a sweet deal.

  • I can't handle the texture of microfiber in my hands. I get the shivers and goosebumps. I can't find a decent cleaning cloth any time I look. I remember my mom having cloth diapers from the 80s, and they worked great for 20 years or so. I should look into that.

  • Why newspaper? Is it just lint free, or does it do something that paper towels won't do. I still get coupons in the mail with news print pages, so I'll have to give it a try.

    I'll add to the conversation and say, denatured alcohol works great on anything that sticks or smears if you have a particularly tough spot.
