  • It’s hard to make water/dust resistant devices with the 3.5mm jack. It was designed to be simple not water resistant. Contacts are close, it’s an hole so water and dust hang out there. Some problems are shared by more modern ports (e.g., iPhone not charging because dust in the lightning jack) but to less extent. This is why they disappeared. Before it was a “must have” and producers had to either put more/better material or have a lower IP rations. After Apple showed that 90% of the people didn’t care, the others followed suits.

  • One of the issues with LLM is that it attracted all attention. Classifiers are generally cool, cheap and saved us from multiple issues (ok face recognition aside 🙂)

    When the AI bubble will burst (because of LLM being expensive and not good enough to replace a person even if they are good in pretending to be a person) all AI will slow down… including classifiers, NLP, etc

    All this because the AI community was obsessed by the Turing test/imitation game 🙄

  • There are a number of communities that are unrelated to ADHD but that naturally attract neurodivergent people. I am thinking of Burning Man community, sex positiveness/kinky/poliamory. No idea why but empirically the more the community is outside the “social norms” the more likely you’ll find neurodivergent folks
