  • For me a banger is the Toy Story 2 game, and I am not even joking lol.

  • if you can get past the DS touchscreen BS.

I always cry internally when somebody doesn't like the DS and 3DS gimmicks :(

Thanks to you guys we all will only have Steam Deck clones as handhelds from now on! /s

To be honest I think most of the people that don't like the touch gimmicks are emulating... But I have heard people with stock hardware complaining too :/

  • Which is the other exception?

  • I played it for the 1st time, no nostalgia googles and I didn't really enjoy the back tracking that much (even using the quick travel spots), the way to get the powers (you kinda need to remember where the monsters are) and discovering the secret rooms felt like a chore to me.

The only Castlevania games that I have played to completion have been Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin of ruin for DS, and regarding the genre, additionally to that, it would be Metroid Zero Mission, Guacamelee! And I think those are the ones I can remember... And I didn't feel that way with them.

I did enjoy the OST and the graphics a lot though.

  • More accessible? Please explain.

    As in easier?

  • I haven't tried the rug trick, gonna check it out.

The worst feeling for me is when the character jumps or falls (fall would be the accurate term).

  • I hope my old PSVR model (the second revision that came for the PS4) is the one that causes dizziness (thus blocks the enjoyment) whenever I try VR gaming... Because it is a technology that I truly don't want to miss 😅

I know there are some workarounds to get your VR legs and such, but I honestly think I am broken.

  • Well yes, we are neighbors, but the Valve still does not ship here :(

  • Plex, Stremio, Kodi and Cloudstream my beloved.

  • If this means what I think it means then that means Lemmy found success.

  • What's the matter? English is not my native language, but I think it is clear what I meant.

  • Premature celebration much?

Yes, OP is doing this... To begin with, I can go out to my local Walmart and buy an Xbox, a PS5 or a Switch any day... The Steam Deck can't even be shipped to Mexico even to this day lol (and we are quite close to the USA).

  • What's the fuss about it? It is always nice to have another screen doom machine around /s

  • I didn't even know there was a Gremlins 2 movie (and I haven't even watched the 1st one).

  • You guys joke and all, but fast charge induces bigger heat and then translates in more harm for the batteries (which will affect more in hot places).

If we want to close this discussion forever I think all the anxiety that comes from this subject at all is due to the fact we can't easily replace the batteries, if we could (with the normal-ish battery sizes we have today), I don't think this test would be even worth doing.

  • It must help as my dad's S23 (which I happen to use now) has about 88% battery life with 870 cycle counts (he always charged to 80% with said option), and for that I am grateful.

  • The CMOS battery of my PSP 3000 died years ago :(

  • Yeah, tablet hype died ages ago, but I think it is handy to have at least one (not the best or more expensive model for sure) at home because it can be handy from time to time.

I had an Internet outage at my gf's place and I could download a lot of shit from my Plex Server to the iPad, something that would have been more annoying to do in the TV or the Mac (or even the phone as I pretty much never use it to watch media).

Also it is quite good as a comic/manga reader (and decent as a book reader).

That is how I see it, I know a lot of people might use it in a more productive way, but for me it is just the backup device that is handy to have (and use in travels too).

  • Yeah... That only applies for non CGNATED networks, and as we are in 2025 I'd say most users worldwide are CGNATED or don't have an IPv6 address... Or worse, both.

If you are CGNATED Plex approach is useless, as their relay sucks as it only lets you play up to 2 (or 4 can't remember) mbps 720p files lol (server will transcode to meet those requirements), if they wanted to charge for remote streaming they should at least increase the minimum Mbps allowed in their relay, that way I understand they fall into server costs by proxying our media... But until that happens, charging for remote streaming is a completely joke (much more if we have free alternatives to keep doing so in a plethora of devices thanks to Tailscale and Zerotier, the true GOATS with a CGNAT environment).
