  • Was listening to that album earlier today for the first time after having it on my incredibly long list of music I haven't listened to yet that grows far quicker than I can get through it. Banger track amongst many others

  • This is fucking awful. Such a terrible, out of nowhere death

Have to say aswell, after reading the article, how stupid is his boss who gave him it? He was involved in the whole meth operation with these cans and decided to give away the excess ones that he thought only had beer in them. Why not just throw them away? Such an idiotic risk for no good reason. Was he high on the supply or something? Only thing I can think to explain why he'd do something as utterly careless as this. And now he's in prison for 20 years because of it

  • I'm from the countryside in north of England and have lived in London at points for many years of my life. London is generally the worst for proper British food, in my experience. The best fry ups, fish and chips and all that you're gunna get is in small towns or villages where the place itself is bare bones and no frills. Far cheaper too

That said, I'll of course take most other cuisine over our own. I do like foods that require a good amount of seasoning and some actual spice. Our cuisine is really helped by those too as I see it. But most people here seem to draw the line at black pepper, sadly

  • Well the UK data is from 7 years ago. But still, did 65% really own their own home? I'm wondering if it's the percentage who aren't living in a rented property, rather than owning their own home? As the majority of people in their 20s and 30s are either renting or technically homeless and living with family or friends. And even then, many of those in the latter situation will be in a rented property. Maybe I just have a wildly skewed idea of home ownership here, I dunno

  • Thanks for clarifying for me. Yeah I should've maybe given a clear do NOT go picking hogweed to eat, or even that near it, unless you're absolutely sure you can identify one from the other. Despite it's name, giant hogweed is very often just as large as the common hogweed surrounding it. It still needs to grow to that size, after all

  • There's so much hogweed all over the UK that's just sitting there, uneaten. Not the giant stuff, that's not a fun time. But the regular stuff has good flavour

Also tons of wild garlic when the seasons in

  • Yep. Autumn is here

  • If true and I had to bet, I'd go with Stephen Miller

  • All this needs is an amogus fella hidden in one of the blocks to add some more spice for future peoples

  • Ahhh I see from the coverage I've heard on this it seemed that people were thinking her appeal was her last chance and if she did go to prison then there's no chance she'd be allowed to live. That she'd be doing all this going after appeals and a presidential pardon with the "if you don't give me this, I'm going to tell the world all I know" angle. I guess maybe she could have done that but they called her bluff and threatened her back and she decided living the rest of her life in a comfy prison was better than death? I dunno, correct me if there's reason not to think that

  • Please excuse my ignorance but why is that? Genuinely curious

  • Enjoy "committing suicide" in prison, you demon

  • Are so many USians just completely incapable of bringing up Trump in every single place they possibly can? Not trying to be a dick or anything it's just so tiring, especially as someone not in the US, to have to see him brought up so often when there's really no reason to so much of the time

  • Mate can you actually read? I replied to your comment to push back against you expecting Greta to be standing up on a platform and immediately talking about all of this stuff to the world when she's going to be very traumatised. And that she would be whether what the article says is true or not. That's it. Nothing else

My whole point has been about that, not about the article and it's accuracy. The only times I've said anything about the latter is cos you keep somehow not understanding that I'm not talking about the accuracy of the article and bringing it back up again. And even then the only thing I really said in response to that was pushing back against you saying The Canary is niche when it actually isn't really. And also telling you to read it, seeing as you clearly hadn't from what you've said in replies. You didn't understand entirely what you were arguing against in the article and now you're not understanding my point at all and have somehow gone off thinking I'm saying things that I'm not

  • Hit & Run was also fantastic

  • I just don't see how coming back to the setup of the first season would be a good idea. It was a masterpiece, I love it, but where could it actually go? I feel like it's just going to be yet another of the masses of mostly badly done remakes and reboots at the moment cos the TV and Film industries are struggling with original ideas and have for a long while now

Also obviously I don't know if they'll do the same kinda vibe as the first season but I'm not sure if it would go over well these days? Like the darkness of it, sure, and the philosophical pessimism could to an extent but if they do it as it was in the first season I think it'd just come across edgelordy and a bit cringe nowadays. Especially seeing as it really didn't do female characters well at all, they were mostly just there to "get in the men's way" or want their dick. I could see it getting labeled as "the incel show"

  • If you can't understand why someone wouldn't go out in front of the world and make big statements in line with these claims, or any statement at all, immediately after a very traumatising experience then you really need to work on your empathy and understanding of basic human emotion. I understand your skepticism, to a point. I just gave a very obvious reason why she hasn't talked about the harrowing things she went through in detail to the public straight away, whether they are as is said in this article or not. Even thinking about them is going to be very difficult for her, nevermind doing what you're expecting

Edit: Taken out a sentence that isn't relevant, as I thought you were the OP of this comment thread before

  • I'm not a chatbot, you can read the article yourself and find out these things. I haven't insisted the article is credible. Go back and read what I wrote and you'll see that
