  • So mood, I have been politically incorrect my entire life. When I was surrounded by Zionists I called the occupation force genocidal, when I was surrounded by religious fundamentalists I resisted, and when I saw a Capitalist I held an intense anger in my heart.

  • I have a far better list of parties that should exist instead :3

    1. Labor party (Democratic Socialism/very reformist Socialism): They're the furthest right and the cloest to reactionary allowed in the government
    2. The Party of Science and Reason (Technocrats): The party of scientific Marxism and technocracy
    3. Libertarian Party (Libertarian Socialism/Anarchism): The party of all left wing libertarians and anarchists
    4. Workers party (Communism/ML): The primary communist party

  • New to Linux which OS to use?

  • Quite frankly Linux mint and Cinnamon by extension is X11 software and I dont expect the transition to be completed anytime in the foreseeable future let alone acturally start for users. Even with their incredibly slow adoption of Wayland im shocked they're going this fast, I thought they would wait another several years. Linux Mint is stable software and they're significantly less willing to make any changes than even Debian.

    (Btw its just testing atm, nothing exists for users yet)

  • The solution is to be pragmatic and support various socialist groups when it makes sense to do so. For example I voted for Mamdani and I dont regret it whatsoever, obviously he's not going to declare revolution and instate a pure socialist utopia.

  • Typo there I meant to say Anarchists in Catalonia, still the fact remains that demanding absolute purity and claiming anything else isnt socialist doesn't result in socialism. That line of thinking objectively only results in the creation of more fascist states.

    Quite frankly the entire world would become fascist before a single nation in the global south accepts your specific definition of pure socialism

  • As an Anarchist even I have to acknowledge that to date the Soviet Union has been the most successful socialist state, of course I am also of the belief that if the Republicans in Spain or the Anarchists in Ukraine they would have established far more successful implementations of socialism. Still the fact remains that the Soviet Union was by all metrics available successful and even until the very end the majority of people in nearly every SSR supported keeping the Soviet Union alive (if not with reforms), they suffered CIA and western backed reactionary rebellions and I don't belive any other socialist state would have handled it any better

    (yes according to polling made by the reactionaries to gage how much the Soviet population wanted to end to the Soviet Union the majority did not, they promptly ignored the results)

  • Everyone keeps saying these are development kits but quite frankly that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. For a machine that's supposedly a developer kit it seems to be missing a few key things including:

    1. Developer tools
    2. Any way to directly interface with the device such as a UART port or a USB C port capable of debugging
    3. Proper dev mode
    4. Proper APIs for development
    5. Physical controllers (it doesn't make sense to sell devs on a device without tactile feedback)

    If this was acturally a dev kit it probrally would also be a completely tethered headset without a built in processor (maybe their VR coprocessor for image processing)
