There are a few key things I would argue you're missing out on:
Up to date software: Mint is pretty out of date and the desktop is severely oudated
A modern interface built on modern software: Specifically im referring to Wayland (which effects multiple monitor setups, VRR, gestures, HDR, and scaling)
Functionality: Following Windows in terms of functionality is a massive limitation, it holds back what could be to what already is. KDE and Gnome are implementing runners (search based application launcher), gestures, widgets, extensions, and advanced shortcuts (cosmic even has tiling).
Design philosophy: Windows is absolutely not the pinnacle of good design and Cinnamon takes it to the next step by looking like Windows 7 but with XP level blurry icons. Once again its clearly they're restricted not just by Microsoft standards but outdated Microsoft standards.
Yeah I also dont get that either, what exactly makes it so easy to switch over? If anything having a UI so close to Windows just makes it frustrating when not everything is identical.
Im not sure why eveyone keeps blindly recommending mint, yeah it works great if you only do document editing and web browsing but it kinda undersells Linux.
Its against my religion for capitalists to have rights, also I have a deeply held religious tradition called eating the rich (I expect this to be accommodated)
Crazy idea and just throwing this out there, what if we dont acturally need suburbs in America? They're absolutely horrible for space efficiency, they're environmentally expensive, and create the conditions that require cars. Nobody really needs two or three guest bedrooms and lets be honest front lawns are useless (they also look ugly).
Now im not saying we should just demolish peoples houses. What I am saying is that no new suburban housing should be developed and over time through laws the suburbs should be destroyed. Rual areas can have their roads tho.
“Marriage equality isn’t in danger. Were that to change, Americans on the left, center, and right would come to its defense.”
Right wingers would celebrate while liberals and centrist liberals would demand a compromise that involved queer people getting significantly less rights. This should make it absolutely and overwhelmingly clear that "religious rights" mean nothing more than the right to oppress others.
Quite frankly if Wayland isnt good enough now it never will be, also Gnome and KDE both objectively have more GUI apps than Cinnamon.
