Literally every single US foreign military intervention ever. There are Americans starving on the street, apparently we cant afford to house or feed them yet apparently we can afford to bomb and murder abroad.
From the POV of most ppl here they should either spend a significant amount of money on server side anticheat and accept that lag will significantly increase or just allow Linux to play without anticheat because "there are so many cheaters why even bother"
Theres a few simple reasons that this steam machine is better:
Game support: Proton plus significantly more native games
Linux is significantly more mature than it was a decade ago (wayland + pipewire + advances in KDE)
The controller is significantly less opinionated (full dpad plus two analog sticks)
The Steam ecosystem and PC gaming as a whole is significantly more mature than it was a decade ago (more games support controllers, steaminput has advanced, and PC game ports are for the most part better than they were during 2015)
This machine actually ships SteamOS and is made by Valve, other companies will make their own Steam Machines later on but this one is the gold standard set by Valve. In this sense Valve has the capacity to demand quality from OEMs rather than OEMs being able to make any demands out of Valve like before.
Quite frankly as bad as the Xbox One/PS4 were they had significantly more games for a lot less money than the Xbox Series or the PS5, competition is simply weaker

They dont acturally need to change the liscense at all, despite what most people think (and would logically make sense) AOSP is acturally downstream from Android. So basically as we're seeing right now if Android doesn't want to release the source code for something they just need to not push it to AOSP. It has been over two months already and Android 16 QPR1 still hadn't been upstreamed to AOSP nor are they legally required to (they are legally required to publish kernel sources which they have failed to do).
As someone who was an absolutely massive fan of the original Steam Controller (in fact I still have two of them) I absolutely love these. Yes I know they're clearly a different design but like last time they seem absolutely perfect for my larger hands. The touchpads seem to be less of a primary focus but honestly im just happy that they included them at all especially two of them. Also USB C plus rechargeable battery and four back buttons instead of two, this is absolutely everything I could have hoped for and then some.
I really hope that with the release of this sc-controller either starts being maintained or somebody makes a fork of it that is (standalone original steam controller/steam deck/steaminput driver)
