  • I have a weird feeling about that one. Feels like it should have been a VR game but it was reviewed to be a flat screen after all. Also, I am personally more and more inclined to play couch coop instead of online co-op so this title wouldn't just work.

  • I grabbed YL as Epics freebie at some point and was very hyped since at our place we just love co-op gaming. Turned out that the second player could have an unplugged controller as well, it wouldn't change anything. We played 5 minutes total.

  • I'm bad at parrying bit would like to become a bit better at it too improve as a gamer. However, there's a resource issue that I often see in games (especially f/tps, not talking about fighting games): both dodge and parry usually cost something like stamina consumption. The only way to regain stamina while defending is actually to avoid hits by good placement but without dodging / dashing. It's slower, more difficult but really satisfying because you have enough stamina to deal great damage at any time. It is usually my way of handling combats.

  • Did that years ago, just called it cds. I also have an "up" command which is an alias to "cds ..". Oh, and I have a "setup server_name" they copy all my aliases to a server and create an alias that allow me to "ssh -A server_name" using only server_name.

  • Raw textile or clothes are fine, I agree. I've seen a lot of issues in anything that implies moving parts or frequent assembling: bicycles, tents, rollers, etc. Nothing extremely bad but, as I said, I preferred to pay a bit more to get better equipment on my bikes elsewhere.

    A bit more details on that "throwing away" part: there are often people who come to the workshop and ask to upgrade their equipment. They want to get a new set of tyres/inner tubes before a new bike season, set up new handles, change wrist watch batteries, etc. We were asked to always puncture old tyres, cut handles in half, etc. The watches case was infuriating to me: battery replacement was 5€, the same amount as a new basic watch. We were asked to just offer people new watches and throw away old ones so no one could retrieve it from trash and use it later. I never did anything of those and resigned shortly.

  • While I sometimes buy some sport equipment here and while they have some very accessible products, you can get much better quality for a bit more expensive. Worth saving money for a month more but have really good hiking equipment (or whatever you are looking for).

    Also, I worked for them a few years ago and their policies were very questionable. E.g. sometimes they were throwing away some products but always smashed them (like, with a hammer) so "it cannot be used if anyone finds it".

  • I'd might accept to send my ID with my photo, first and last name (data which they already have and might use to verify my identity) but with all the remaining info being anonymized / blurred. But I believe that Persona filter out blurred out images. And I have to admit, I am kinda afraid to send fake data. Sure, Persona is not a legal representative but a third party, sending them a fake ID isn't any different to send a fake ID to a buddy but still.

  • Thanks for your reply, there are many ideas that help me to think it through!

    First of all: no, I agree that non-verified person should not be able to request an account deletion. However, I am in full possession of my id, password, 2FA, full access to both old and new e-mail boxes as well as to all devices that have ever been used to log into this account. I believe that this is enough to prove that I am the one holding the account.

    I believe that I never used LI from any new VPN (I use either professional VPN or no VPN).

    As per your last paragraph, I totally agree that it might "reveal" my sensitive data. My idea was the following: if I show myself ready enough and kinda literate about privacy (nothing fancy, just some well-known rights and regulations) I might get them to accept a video call or something similar to confirm my identity. If this case were to be brought to court after all, I believe that my ID data might remain within the jurisdiction of my country instead of be sent to a third party (Persona).

  • I have a very similar situation: a cat with a severe kidney disability, meds 5 times a day with at least 2h between each. We've been using a whiteboard but I am currently setting a smarter solution. My WIP setup is a raspberry pi with a static IP on my local network and a FastAPI app. This way I can also do a household to-do lists (did anybody watered plants recently?) and add connection to local smart lights (effects if meds could not be given with 2h interval before our usual go-to-bed time), etc.

    It would only work for us since it is a household only solution. Our cats do not travel anywhere and I do not currently need to check for these todos when not at home. It may be different for you. Good luck OP, hope you will find something that suits you.
