  • You can get jalapeños in Maine it doesn’t get more WASPy than there.

  • Really interesting episode of This American Life covered a patent trolling and a lot of the finer points regarding patent law. Episode 441

  • But you get to keep the bear!

  • Arizona* Lucille wouldn’t even joke about moving to Texas

  • Stuff like this makes me think we’re witnessing so many crimes that we don’t have a names for yet.

  • People focus on merch and branding WELL before they have any business model all of the time. It’s totally possible they paid for a $50 custom sticker, and locked down a domain name for 10 years, and hadn’t even applied for a business license.

Edit: watched the video, the rear windows are a different shape I don’t think these are the same cars.

  • No luck googling canas garage in Washington state, must be their twitch channel or something.

  • No one is arguing that people shouldn’t get their cars keyed for parking like assholes, so that’s beside the point. I said it because it was funny reading exactly into what they said in the context of this conversation. You’re translating their intent correctly, but that’s not very funny to me. Anyways have a nice day.

  • They said they do that “regardless” implying they either key cars regardless of whether they park illegally or not Or they key cars that park illegally regardless of whether they’re disabled or not. I’m not defending or attacking anything. It was a confusing use of regardless and I thought it was funny enough to point out.

  • Well we can make it Cana’s Garage’s problem.

  • Regardless of whether they park legally? Or are you handicapped semi regularly?

  • I don’t disagree that red states cutting education funding is intended to do just that, but I think this trend is a reflection of the 2020 lockdowns stunting a year of development and kids getting hooked on social media in general since it’s all across the world. Scary stats regardless, though.

Anecdotal hope: All of my friends with kids read to them nightly, even when both parents are working. My three year old nephew’s obsessed with books.

  • Good recs, thanks again.

  • I don’t have have seven days to kill here, I still gotta pop this corn about Bosworth.

  • One of my favorite things about the internet are creators like this guy. Someone I’ll never meet can show you something that at first glance seems odd and inconsequential and make it totally riveting. Now I’m in the rabbit hole of their YouTube channel learning about monuments and fountains.

If this if your channel OP, keep it up, your passion is contagious. If you’re not, thanks for sharing.

Edit: there’s so much more here! They’re like that college friend you’d put a quarter in, wind up, and let go loose on any wild topic. Awesome.

  • I’ve found and love my vintage Pyrex measuring cups and completely agree, the new ones are sloppy compared to what they once were. If you live near a city you’ll see a lot of them on Craigslist, marketplace, or estate/move out auctions to find some older sets. If not you can find some online for about double what you’d expect to pay from local sellers, just be on the look out for any cracks or chips if you can’t see them in person before buying.

Plus it feels good to buy used and reduce landfill fodder.

  • Ooh nice reminder that I haven’t seen RRR again this year, yet. Thanks

  • Now with Thom at the Warf to hear what they fish are saying about this splashing new development.
