China is also massively upgrading their grid to increase power transmission.

I don't think it's even that they're intentionally obfuscating anything, the west just banned them from SWIFT and using Western insurance so all their purchases and insurance are harder for the west to track. Completely self inflicted loss of intelligence/paper trails by the big brains in the State Department.
It's really hard to say, I think. Trump and his people are all perfectly comfortable with lying, but I can also understand from the Venezuelan perspective the benefit in outright denying piddly little attempts at generating a reaction. If I were Maduro, I would deny such a stupid little "strike" if it were real because its only real purpose is to foment ire and retaliation.

Overlanding is just car camping with a credit card and a need to impress people on instagram, 99% of people into overlanding would be just fine with a RWD SUV and a limited slip.
