  • I'm on Bazzite after giving the other ublue flavours a try. It took a couple of weeks to get comfortable with the new philosophy, but now I can't see myself going back. What felt like limitations at first, now feels like good habits. All my dev work is done in containers, so it just makes sense.

  • I wish I was capable of napping.

  • I grew up assuming every adult should be self-sufficient, so I learnt all of cooking, cleaning, gardening, basic repairs, home maintenance, sewing, etc. I think the most likely people to have a problem with that never learnt it themselves, so they feel inadequate.

It became an issue in my first serious relationship because she didn't cook or clean much. She definitely never tried to nurture so much as a plant. I had no problem with that because I could, but she started to feel less feminine, and eventually turned it around on me. The guys she left me for were completely useless, but they didn't highlight her insecurities so she was happy. At least for a short while.

People who are confident in their identity and abilities don't do this, and that's who you want to find anyway, regardless of gender.

  • That's wild. Have they seen how much you can provide from a garden?

Also, having a garden doesn't preclude one from hunting... whatever that means in the modern era. You can only eat so much meat.

  • I can imagine accounting companies that get brought in as business consultants, then use the opening to upsell technical solutions.

  • She doesn't spend the cash. It's her ID card.

  • In Westminster-like systems, I believe this would be loss of supply, where it's expected to trigger an election. It seems to work well as an incentive for governments to do their bloody job, but I'm sure they would find a way to abuse or ignore it.

  • Now I want to know why Sabaton hasn't done a song about the Emu War.

  • Because you already switched, right? Right!?

  • Yeah, those trotters couldn't possibly wield a cleaver safely.

  • Hell yeah sister 🤘

  • If he undershoots she can fart to give it a bit more oomph.

  • It's not all Australians, but those who do it are all over social media for some reason.

  • I've been rolling up my clothes for years. I thought it would leave wrinkles, but it doesn't. So much faster than folding, and much easier to pack when travelling.

  • I'm going to guess, based on the pattern of other misuses, they use it like "ultimate", but with emphasis?

  • I think strong/static typing with inference is the sweet spot. Complex types can change, so it helps to at least have your boundaries well defined. Within the scope of a function, if you need explicit typing on everything then your function might be getting too complex.

  • Or just the size of the largest input?

  • Yeah it could get rough. The problem was mainly one kid who wanted to spear tackle everyone.

  • Early 90's. It started out as tag, but we thought tackling would be more fun.

  • I went to school in a few towns, but I only recall playing this in Armidale, NSW.

Everyone runs across the field together, while one person tries to tag as many people as they can. If you're tagged then you are also a tagger in the next round. Repeat until one person is left, who starts the next game.

We were actually banned from playing this because we preferred to tackle instead of tagging. Nobody got seriously hurt, but the teachers thought it was only a matter of time.
