  • no mods no masters

  • ah, thanks for explaining that. if there is an option to join or not join, then the unions would have some incentive to do a good job. but in the usa, that isn't an option, so every union eventually turns corrupt.

I'm sure that was done intentionally, to render unions (worse than) useless.

  • isn't it funny how humans will end up using a trillion times more energy so that the calculator can be less reliable, but acts like a person

  • i am millennial but i did hear it before. on the line.

  • this feels correct. niche terms become slang. seems right

  • nassim taleb calls it "over-platonification," expecting everything to meet some platonic ideal. it is absolutely pervasive. this is another great example of it

  • how would you know ahead of time? mostly (in USA at least) you don’t get a choice. when you join a job if they have a union you have to join, even if its corrupt. how can you prevent them from becoming corrupt?

  • unions would probably make sure all juniors have to work weekends. kinda like airline unions make juniors work 10x unpaid labor hours than the seniors

  • i just do a tiny bite of anything. super tiny, maybe with a sip of water. but, i concentrate really hard on the fact that i ate something. usually works ok

  • i admit that i do. sometimes stuff is on there. and i gave up reddit forever, lemmy doesn't have much niche stuff yet!

  • i got like a third through it before scrolling to the bottom to see how long it was. omg! should be the canonical example of the opposite of a shitpost ha

  • thanks for reminding me of those. it gave me a laugh to think about people holding those worthless things

  • the term developer is highly overloaded. in the games industry it can either mean "the company producing the game" or "an individual software developer working on a game." i think more often it is used in the first sense, especially in reporting.

  • how would they even monetize that? so basic

  • the watches still work fine with an old OS. my son uses my old watch gen 1. it just doesn't have all the new features or whatever

  • I'm pretty sure if you read the comments you could figure it out

  • this is definitely the most pressing issue facing our country right now. great work guys!

  • look how they massacred my boy

  • its still wefwef on my phone and its never changing. i had forgotten that it had changed, actually. lol
