  • Double entendre.

  • What do you mean nothing to do?

The USA has been self governing nation for long enough for them to solve their own problems, especially as they have a staggering amount of wealth and security.

Quite a few ex-colonies have done rather well for themselves too, so "the destruction our expansionist empire caused" can be recovered from. One can only wonder why it's our fault some places haven't recovered yet.

I also wonder which destructive expansionist empire you're part of, Mr Pot.

  • That was hundreds of years ago. All the shit over there is your own doing now, nothing to do with us.

  • No. Trains go from nowhere near where I live to nowhere near where I want to go, except in rare circumstances like if I stay in London for a few days. I did go through a phase of being dependent on (non-London) trains and hated every minute.

So for me it'd be yet more tax with no benefit.

  • He had opinions that some people disagreed with. That seems to be the current definition of "nazi". It's somewhat different from actual Nazis from WWs I and II.

  • What do you mean you "will" live with gun violence as a daily occurrence? It already is.

  • There are some countries that ban religion. You can tell which ones they are because they're the ones that shine with the best of humanity.

  • The d in Connecticut is between the e and the i. They don't connect because it was cut.

  • xD.

  • My biggest problem with Teams is that it doesn't deliver messages when it thinks the computer isn't active. Got Teams running on Computer A while you're working on Computer B? Don't expect to see anything from anyone, not even if you frequently glance over at your other monitor.

I got a mouse wiggler just so that I could get messages.

The most fundamental feature of a messaging platform is messaging. If it can't do that properly, which for some reason Teams can't or won't, then it deserves all the hate it gets.

  • Don't you mean F***d?

  • I thought it was the guy on the left for looking too much like Rick Wakeman.

  • That's a very long album title.

  • Good for you! I just solved a shared audio problem on a Pi 5 in the last week. If I was watching something in VLC then paused it and wanted to look at something on YouTube, I couldn't get any audio without killing VLC then later having to try to remember where I was up to.

  • If you divide it by itself and add one, you can do that infinitely many times and get a prime every time. Works for all the primes.

  • I'm using Cinnamon and so's my wife!

  • Ah right. So residents of Mariupol who now live in different parts of Ukraine would also be considered refugees while still being in their homeland.

  • Hmm I'm confused...

"Voluntary emigration" is widely considered a euphemism for ethnic cleansing, given Palestinians' general unwillingness to leave their homeland.

But I thought they were refugees, i.e. Gaza ISN'T their homeland. If they are living in their homeland then how are they still refugees?

One of my friends is a Ukrainian refugee. He isn't living in his homeland and doesn't consider himself British.

  • Maybe that's the problem. A lot of the ladies I know say that sort of thing is uncomfortable.
