  • Grapheneos on Pixel 9 fold. Runs like a charm. You have a normal phone by default for all your normal daily stuff, but it's ready for all the advanced things you might want anytime.

  • Please check I wrote 'by default'. By default, a new user is going to want to find its existing settings when typing 'settings', not a random configuration folder named 'settings'. I'm all in for KDE configuration and adjusting it to do whatever you want it to. Hell that's the main advantage of KDE. But by default, and for a new user just landing here, the 'start' menu should be to 'start' apps.

  • So....you think....the start menu by default...should be used for searching folders? Am I getting this right?

  • Didn't the guy just sell a massive part of the key French military component manufacturing?

  • Well the picture looks descriptive right? Searching for Bluetooth shouldn't show first some random folder, it should prioritize the settings section. I reckon in general when there's an app with the name being searched it should show before random folders as a general rule.

  • Huh... How's Firefox going to sync another apk's settings?? I was talking about bookmarks in the app Comaps, not in a website.

  • I mean yes, absolutely needs to happen. But this process takes years for every single additional stop. In which every planned expansion neighborhood experiments MASSIVE pricing speculation, passed onto rents and everything in general, way before it even opens.

  • Doesn't this sound awfully similar to the Mini disc technology? The discs were only writable when heated by a laser. They were pretty impressive for the time... But not very fast. Especially when writing.

  • This might give some context. Posted on another thread:

  • Sanchez response was rather epic IMHO. "Let the techno oligarchs bark Sancho, for that must mean we are riding forward".

  • Yes. Go For All Mankind. Takes a bit...to get used to the alternate universe in which the USSR won the moon race (no big plot reveal here, this is the first 5min in the first episode). But it keeps building on that universe, and the subsequent technological races...and it's absolutely hooking. By all means, go for it. Apple TV is on a stride with their TV shows, honestly some of the most risky ideas are being shown there.

  • Didn't it get cancelled? Does it have an ending?

  • The writer has another TV show with a bit similar tone, if different style/plot? Down Cemetery Road.

  • -How to setup your private spaces and profiles will be the biggest pain in mental considerations. This is one of the biggest differences allowed by Graphene. Also, not all apps like to be on a secondary profile (I'm looking at you, intune). My setup so far is a main google-less profile with f-droid, obtanium and all my foss apps...an insular 'work' profile, where I have all my banking and more or less secure apps, a 'hidden profile' (is that the name?), where I have a bit less trustworthy apps, food delivery, uber, gmaps etc (the difference between the work and the hidden profile, is work can be paused manually, but will keep working if you want it to in the background while the screen is off...while the hidden profile closes a few minutes after turning the screen off). Then secondary profiles for absolute garbage untrustworthy apps that I know try to gather as much info from you as possible. -Rather than obtanium, I prefer f-droid when possible. Better general oversight of the apps. I- think thunderbird can be set to check more frequently. I haven't noticed any missing emails that get downloaded as I open. But maybe I don't check my email so frequently. -Does Molly work on its own, without having to use some third-party notification setup such as ntfy?

  • I prefer f-droid builds whenever possible. Some github apks will still include google libraries, or not quite mention where they connect. F-droid goes the extra step of checking all of these for you, and give you warnings of any unintended connectivity for example. They're quite strict for a reason. And I appreciate it.

  • Nobody worry, I'm sure they'll fire another 15% of their workforce to make those arbitrary profit margins!

  • I don't recall what the ending was. I have forgotten most of the second season and completely the third. I need to re-watch the whole thing again I guess.
