  • Look, I get the incel version on fEmaLeS isn't liked. But male/female is a perfectly valid way to refer to the 2 sexes. And if you aren't doing some incel putting down women shit in using the word, I think acting like using female is the same as referring to someone as the n word is just stupid. There was nothing in that statement that sounded disrespectful to women.

  • Fucker tried to overthrow the government. If you can't convict someone for that and prevent him from running again in 4 years that's a serious failure to your duties as president. If the court system can't handle it then maybe he should have used his presidential immunity the fucking supreme court ruled to get rid of the threat.

    Edit: also if biden wouldn't have hopped on taking momentum away from Bernie in the primaries, it probably would have been Trump vs Bernie. And I believe Bernie would have won 2 terms. I think biden did decent as president, but allowing an insurrectionist to run again was a huge error.

  • I thought for sure you were wrong and that Federal law mandated breaks and lunch. But fucking hell, nope. I'm glad don't live in a red state. We have breaks and lunch required by law, and at least a decent minimum wage.4 hours=paid break. 6 hours = paid break and unpaid lunch. 8 hours has 2 paid breaks and lunch. There's some exceptions, like farm work. And if you can't leave your job and have to take a working lunch. But then they have to pay you for it.

  • At least for me, I think I figured it out. If you skip the ad (Paramount show preview, or whatever plays at the beginning) sometimes the play/pause controls will be wrong. It's been a while since I've used it, but I'm thinking the progress bar is gone for how far into the episode you are. If that happens it's not saving your watch status. You have to stop the episode and restart it.

    Granted, YouTube would probably be the hardest service for me to walk away from. Even without the entertainment aspect. How-tos on car repair and building projects etc are quite valuable.

Which I also thought was not following what I thought starfleet stood for, but I wasn't aware of the burn at the time I watched the episode, and I think they've done ok explaining the dark time starfleet didn't live up to their ideals and why the captain quit.

  • All true. I also remembered that I actually bought 2 ps2 as I bought my girlfriend's mom one for a dvd player for Christmas I think. The vhs to dvd was definitely a bigger jump than to blu-ray.

  • The ps3 was also one of the cheapest blu-ray players at the time. But I'm pretty sure the 2 launched for 3 or 4 hundred, not 500 or 600 like the ps3 so that probably put a damper on sales. I know I waited for the 40gig $400 ps3 version that gen, and the ps3 price is what made me buy a 360 initially instead.

  • Hmmm. We do have a new kitten that likes to mess with the bottom shelf so we try to keep the door shut most of the time. I'd think I'd probably notice the other trays having damage if it did jump up there, but it does look like a pretty nice spot to nap.

  • I wouldn't be ok with that. But I also think the path to legal immigration needs fixing. And that for example farm workers should have a legal way into the country for work, while also being provided the same worker protections every citizen gets.
