  • Lol, lmao even

    (I'm assuming this is a bit until proven otherwise)

  • What's the precedent?

  • So mostly monogamous straight couples in this highschool?

    Wait.. that giant ring is... Oh

  • We were gonna give you $2000 but we wanted to make it symbolic

  • M-C-M and M-C-M' are different. The M' adds a profit into the system.

    The C in M-C-M is actually hiding C = (I+L) which is adding the labor value to the input goods to create the commodity.

    M' changes this formula by setting C = (I+L+P) where profit is introduced. This profit can only be extracted from living labor, since the input commodity already has reified labor value in it and can't be made to change.

    So (I+Lreal) = (I+Lwages+P)

    Even though M-C-M implies equivalent labor value exchange, dealing with this relation by nature will create the ground for M-C-M' to arise since there are those in that value chain who don't experience C-M-C primarily, and they will want to extract value from M-C-M. Marx floated the idea of labor tokens, but even fake money can be abused during exchange to extract value from labor.

  • But Black Dynamite I'm a moderator on a politically devisive forum!

  • Honestly, as chip fabs spool down and we forget how to make them, the only computers that will be around in a couple decades are old 8086 and maybe G4 power PC based chips. The larger node sizes have lifetimes measured in the centuries while the smaller nodes have lifetimes measured in years.

    Chip production is something that can just be forgotten if no one is doing it.

  • I've already answered this

  • "I was charged $2/Mb when I was quoted 2¢/Mb"

  • 0.002¢ == $0.00002

    It's easier if you replace the units with meters/centimeters:

    Is 0.002m == 0.002cm ?

  • That doesn't work if you're the one asking questions though lol

  • I have two modes:

    1. Someone asks me a good question that doesn't have an immediate solution that puts us down a rabbit hole. Especially when they follow the question with their attempted solutions and what went wrong.
    2. Someone asks the same question for the 5th time, with no context usually by saying "it's broken" or "it didn't work".

    Love interacting with and helping the first one, and the second one doesn't even get a response unless you just started a couple months ago

  • I feel that. I'm also the "guy who knows anything" and frequently get "invalidusernamelol! It's broken!" Screamed across the office at me.

    If I know I've already shown them what to do I don't even engage, if I'm not sure what they're talking about I make them write up the issue, if I've already answered it and I know they have been told they get a "you'll figure it out, don't bother me again"

    I used to be more patient, but I have so much on my plate and when I came up here there was no one who knew anything. I had to teach myself the job by reading documentation and books. I've shared those with the newer folks who ask a ton of asinine questions, but they would rather just bug me than spend the 10 seconds to look up their issue in documentation or forums. Or one of the books I donated to the company.

  • The publisher is the one that liquidated without warning. I happened during the game's launch too, which means suddenly this indie developer has to find out what the hell is happening.

    Think about it like having a trial coming up, and then the day of the trial you find out your lawyer is gone.

  • Honestly, it's hard to tell without the studio directly coming out and saying. It's not full AI like some people are saying, but there's definitely things that could be AI

  • Yeah. But what if they want to throw a party? What are they gonna do? Go to a ready ice?

  • Golf Courses and Yards alone use insane quantities of water. If you're in California, the Alfalfa businesses uses something like 30% of the supply and that's a cash crop.

  • There are screens I've seen where the in-betweens have 6 fingers. There's definitely a lack of QC going on, but I think there's also a tight deadline and they're having AI do in-betweens on noisy action shots.

  • The Atomics are really the only distros that are significantly different from any other, and even then they aren't that different until you start interacting with the "immutable" root.

    Really nice to have a rolling backup every time you do something that could bork your install though. Would recommend for people who want to play around with bleeding edge packages while also being safe.
