The Brookings institute writeup is interesting (and utterly disgusting, both in tone and content), but it focuses more on how than why. The section on why is brief and reads more like propaganda than geopolitics. It’s also kinda old now, from the Obama years.
yeah same. imo, popular unrest is kinda like water boiling — it’s a phase transition that happens at a critical temperature — and the Trump admin’s public statements are cynical ploys to stay below that temperature while doing unpopular things.
idk, Trump might be an idiot but he's briefed by the top analysts of the Pentagon and the CIA. It's hard to believe we have insights they lack.
