  • The Pitt. Fantastic hour-by-hour show about a fictional emergency room in Pittsburgh. Each episode covers one hour and the whole season covers a single shift. I hear it's very true to life, unlike House. Emotionally it's a balance, sometimes very heavy and sometimes lighthearted. I never found it overwhelming. If you're interested in medicine, or the medical world, definitely check it out.

  • I like the sink faucet that points straight up

  • Thanks so much for taking the time! I'm very interested to read it

It's gotten long, so I'm debating on whether to make it a comment or a separate post.

With this much effort, you should consider making a separate post so more people might see it — unless that means too much pressure to edit it

Editing it would take a bit longer, but I sorta just want to get it done with lol.

That could always be a separate post if you get around to it. Certainly there'd be people who didn't see it the first time, or people who'd appreciate an edited version

  • I’m optimistic on that front. First, this is public-sector research, and second, the approach seems inexpensive and hard to copyright. A lipid nanoparticle is not that special; there are multiple ways to formulate them (some are native to your body), and already there are (I assume) multiple competing firms that can produce them cheaply in large quantities, thanks in part to the pandemic. As for the mRNA sequence packaged inside the nanoparticles, I think if you publish that sequence in a research paper it’s considered factual information that cannot be copyrighted? And furthermore, there are probably multiple valid sequences that would work, maybe even a large number of them. I can’t imagine anyone getting a monopoly on something like this, especially with the enormous demand for it.

*I’m not an expert though, and it just occurred to me that, by the same logic, insulin should be cheap, but iirc it costs hundreds a month in the US

  • Religious conservatism serves the rich. God-and-country patriotism is an antidote to worker organizing and class consciousness. It keeps wages down and rich bosses in power. The system is working as intended.

  • You build a dam to hold back progress and then demand gratitude for the trickle that slips through it

  • yesterday zei squirrel went off on the absurdity of this argument

the whole "no, I recognize the genocide, but Iron Dome is defensive so we must fund it" line is just astonishing. "No, I get Nazi Germany is bad, but we must send them the anti-air defenses they need to keep doing their genocidal war." It is solely because the US and NATO give them this military infrastructure that they are doing the genocide in Gaza and launched their wars on Lebanon, Yemen, Iran and Syria.

Any child knows this. Any 6 year old knows this, and of course AOCIA and Bernie Sanders know this. And the fact that they keep lying about it shows just how much contempt they have for you.

Btw ask Bernie Sanders and AOCIA if they support sending an Iron Dome system to Gaza and Iran.

Go ahead and ask them. Ask them if they support sending Patriots and Iron Dome there to defend their civilians, and watch them fly into Zionist rage-rants: OMG YOU WANT US TO GIVE THAT TO KHAMAS AND THE MULLAHS? OMG

Or how about Russia. Ask Bernie Sanders and AOCIA if they believe the US and NATO should send Russia Iron Dome and Patriots to help defend their civilians. Why not? I thought you care about protecting civilians, so why would you not want to protect Palestinians in Gaza, and Iranian and Russian civilians?

Oh you just meant the Jews in Israel, the only ones you consider to be human, in fact super-human, Ubermenschen.

But it's even worse. All of this is pure deflection because it's not just about Iron Dome, AOCIA and Bernie Sanders consider all the jets and tanks and missiles to be "defensive weaponry" as well, and in their purely symbolic resolutions they knew would fail only targeted a tiny irrelevant percentage of larger caliber bombs slated to be sent in the future, and sold this as "WE ARE TRYING TO STOP ALL FUNDS AND ARMS TO NETANYAHUS EXTREMIST GOVERNMENT" to fool their base into thinking that they actually support that: https://x.com/zei_squirrel/status/1870599903812198837

Bernie Sanders and AOCIA are both totally committed genocidal Zionists who fully support the genocide, but know that this goes against their own base, the overwhelming majority of democrats and the majority of the broader public, so they have to lie, deceive, do propaganda, and feign pseudo-radical poses and pretenses.

But it will not work. Everyone can see what they really are. And they will not forget.
