  • Elder millennial here, I also struggle reading analogue clocks to this day. I can, but it just takes me a long time to do so. And I've been like this since I was a little kid.

  • greetings from Kansas province

  • I have a ~/Sync folder with a symlink to all my Syncthing shares, which I have quite a lot of. Helps me find them quickly and reminds me that everything in there us pulled or pushed somewhere else.

  • From back when I used to freelance as a photo and video editor. ~/Media which was a mount point for my second hard drive with all the personal and paid customer's I was working on, it was a mix of Music, Photos and Videos that I was creating, but not consuming if that makes sense.

Just a remnant from back when I had a small SSD with my OS and a second larger mechanical drive for everything else

  • This one hits a bit too close to home

A few years ago I was working the early shift at my previous work (6 to 3) and my girlfriend at the time started working part time on the afternoon shifts at her work (1 to 6pm if memory serves me right). Over time she started to waking up later and later while I still needed to get up by 5am. Over a couple of months she started getting mad at me for going to bed early and not spending time with her, despite her going to bed past 2am on a weeknight.

Eventually she got a full time job and I stopped working the early shift, but damn that was an stressful year for my sleep cycle

  • I was diagnosed with Autism at the ripe old age of 33. When I told my parents about it, my mum lost her mind because I was actually diagnosed at 7, she just never told me in hopes I will be "normal" and thought she got away with it.

  • Because they were invented in Germany. But yes, they are the standard in most of Europe now, in some countries they are known as European windows

  • mmw they'll just merge that functionally into instagram eventually

  • just today someone told me that Vocaloid was also AI music, they are either too dumb to make some basic fact-checking or true believers trying to hype up AI by any means necessary

  • Sharpening is a simple convolution, doesn't even count as ML.

I really hate that everything gets the AI label nowadays

  • I just migrated my personal projects to Codeberg (and sent a donation their way too!). As soon as I update the origins on my servers I'll be deleting my GitHub account.

The one FOSS project I contribute to was already being hosted on GitLab to begin with. And my work just announced we'll be migrating to GitLab as well.

    Today is a good day

  • I've been looking into migrating to Tidal, what other better alternatives are out there?

The only reason I stuck with Spotify for so long is because I don't really pay for it (long story short, a family member gets a free family plan through her job)

  • I'm on the same boat, I got 2016 around Eternal release date for like €10 and loved it. Then I bought Eternal just last year for a similar deal and I haven't finished the DLC yet. I am more than happy to wait for DA to go on sale.

  • As a non native speaker, it really irks me when people mix up "brake" and "break", specially among car enthusiasts.

  • Last time I went to Canada, my roaming wasn't working, so I called customer service from another number and I was told I should call from the phone number having problem instead.

  • probably it would get imported into another country within the EU, it is quite common for used cars in Europe to make their way into the used market in another country.

Just like used American cars make their way to central and south America.
