  • My mid 20s were when I hit a major mental breaking point. If I hadn't had a good support network of friends close to me and family I could turn to...

26 is old enough to feel like you've lost everything and that nothing will ever be good again. He left a good career for his morals and lost all hope of employment from it.

  • They don't really have that much extra bandwidth though. This is the busiest time of the year.

This strike is well timed to put a squeeze on

  • 100% - it's obviously a company run by slack jawed morons but the original comment had assumed it was only those affected getting the email, which is a different context

  • Easy mistake to make - it wasn't exactly front and center

  • Totally - just pointing out that implied in the first comment was those included in the email were the fired ones when that's not the case

  • The stressed employees were almost certainly the high performers lmao

  • That email is company wide, not specific to those fired

  • I pay $100 for my eye exam and $150 for my glasses every couple years.

It would take 30+ years for that cost to reach the Lasik levels you paid, and that's assuming I'm not doing anything with the $3750 remaining after the first appointment.

  • Unfortunately they walled garden themselves pretty universally. I've been on Tidal since Spotify fired all those people and have been really enjoying it.

Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like their recommended music is also way better.

  • This is happening because Spotify laid off half it's staff and thought it could get away with it.

  • Hachette is one of the Big 5 publishers at 10% market share. Penguin Random house (25%), HarperCollins (11%) and Wiley (not big 5 but still ~10%) were also in the suit.

Hachette, Penguin and HarperCollins are basically half of all books that come out.

  • United was the #1 claim denier as a percentage

  • This is exactly why usage analytics are important metrics...

  • The long weekend from Thanksgiving gave me unprecedented access to factorio space age. I think I hit 60 hours last week.

  • Power over Ethernet is a helluva drug

  • I mean he specifically said prison labor for the "wellness" farms - like prisons don't have inmates do hard labor on farms (I'm looking at you Louisiana with your fucking slave plantation prisons).

The idea of a place where you have to work the fields and aren't allowed access to the outside world is a reeducation camp. He's saying "you go there voluntarily"... Instead of a standard prison, which Republicans have done everything they can to make as harrowing a place as possible.

Go to reeducation gulag or go rot in a hole isn't much of a choice, even if we smear it with the fecal veneer of "wellness culture"

  • Agreed.

But the entire point I'm making is there's nothing wrong with the diamonds, the problem is with the method and the people profiting from it.

You were saying the diamonds were not fine by dint of origin. I'm saying let's right the wrong and then use the diamonds.

  • The fuck you think "using their ill gotten gains for good" means?
