  • i just keep them. do backup all useful data from the accounts even if you don't remove them tho. for gmail setup forwarding to your new mail account.

  • as long as you keep it safe i still think it's better than not having one though. it's much easier to manipulate memory when there's nothing to compare/verify against. tho, the journal being leaked or modified is a big issue, maybe a git repo inside some encrypted drive would do..

  • i think they mean they'll provide direct access to data hosted by "third party"s (torrents?), without the captchas and throttling/rate limiting present when normally using the annas archive website

    they're asking for text extraction and dedup in exchange for providing datasets. at least publicly they claim this whole project is aimed at data preservation and wide access.. they're mostly aggregating/collecting data from other shadow libraries and even if they have malicious(?) intent, i'd say they're a net positive since their code and datas are mostly(?) open sourced.

  • mostly yes. it can even be mostly mitigated without going WSL, since the anti-features can be mostly disabled through group policy and registry hacks.
