I'm here, I'm there, I'm everyfuckingwhere.

  • There's an extremely powerful backdoor in every processor/chipset. Intel named it "Management Engine" and AMD "Secure Technology".

From the Wikipedia page on Management Engine:

The ME has its own MAC and IP address for the out-of-band management interface, with direct access to the Ethernet controller; one portion of the Ethernet traffic is diverted to the ME even before reaching the host's operating system.

ME has Serial over LAN, so it's possible that attackers can have a more intimate access to your hardware than your Operating System.

I imagine other manufacturers have similar frameworks.

    Full article.

  • My most generous reading of democrat inaction is that right now their only power at the federal level is obstruction in Congress. This obstruction may eventually lead to government shutdown and this would be the greatest gift you could give a dictator.

Let's just say that some ICE agents and DOGE maniacs will keep working because they are in it for things beyond money, so to speak.

  • Libs stop thinking in electoralist terms challenge [back-breakingly toilsome]

Democrat politicians abandoned you decades ago and don't have your interest in mind, please please PLEASE stop defending them/putting your hopes on them (and the electoral Kabuki theater in general) and do something about your situation yourselves. Organize, build community, help people in need, use your privilege where it matters.

It's too late for elections, even more if that's the one and only thing you're willing to do politically. You might "win" a presidential term for a democrat president next time but the damage is already done and everything is rotting around you.

All this dumb bickering about "voting for the lesser evil" is incredibly frustrating for people from countries who endured dictatorships. So if anything, listen to them and act before it's too late.

  • Most people think the propaganda has some content they want you to believe, but in reality the propaganda has to just keep us arguing and fighting all day instead of using the magic of the internet for cooperation and personal growth by learning about all kinds of stuff and liberating our minds.

  • AUTOEXEC.BAT

  • Yeah, it's really great journalistic work. The authors talked to a lot of people to get their side of what happened.

  • He's really just that brain damaged. A couple of weeks ago I read a book about his takeover of Twitter and even his day-to-day behaviors are completely unhinged. He is surrounded by sycophants and weirdos and has lost touch with reality years ago.

The book is "Character Limit" by Conger and Mac.

  • These guys don't get it, maybe on purpose. What makes one "working class" is having to work to live, not being poor. Or, in this case, being just an injury away from losing it all.

The middle class is a myth.

  • He's also the only appointee who's sharing his power with someone else. Ramaswamy and Musk will not work well together.

  • I said basically the same the article says a couple of days ago and was pelted with a gazillion negative votes. Centrists are averse to learning from mistakes, otherwise they wouldn't be centrists.

  • Honest question: Why blame the voters? Why not blame Harris for refusing to do the obviously correct, ethical even moral thing regarding Gaza?

The democrats are so impossibly spineless that they wait for polls and focus groups for their talking points instead of standing up for their principles (if they really exist).

Dems spent the entire campaign trying to compromise with and convince right wingers acting in bad faith instead of just working towards progressive policies. They once and again let the GOP set the tone for every conversation.

The Dem's attitude towards the genocide in Gaza is just a piece of evidence that shows their way of thinking: the dog race and politicking is more important that doing the right thing.

So stop blaming the voters and take a deep look into your own values and principles because the nation being obliterated right now in the middle east and the people who stand for them even at great cost to themselves are definitely not to blame.

  • You could start by reading about the School of the Americas, Operation Condor and Operation Gladio. See how the USA treats its "friends".

Read about cointelpro and see how it treats its citizens. Some tactics are still in use today.

  • Add to this one another map of past CIA-backed coups and despair.

  • My argument would be that individual actions are useless or even harmful. Collective, smart action is required. This problem is bigger than any one of us but not bigger than every one of us.

  • Liberals tend to say that the system just needs a few tweaks here and there while the reality is that the entire thing is rotten to the core and the stuff they enjoy now in their "developed" countries was built upon centuries of exploitation of other people, which is still ongoing stronger than ever.

When confronted with these facts, some liberals act defensively and instead of learning and growing in their understanding, they start aligning with right wing thinking. That's why the saying goes "scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds".

  • You are clearly not a victim of these issues and the situation is so alien to you that apparently the only way for you to relate to them is via the news. Violence and prejudice are things that happen to "other people".

Real people are suffering real oppression every day. Some in a small almost invisible way and others live in permanent fear of violence because of who they are.

That things were worse in the past is no reason to stop progress. And things did get better because people fought for them, often to death.

I hope you are arguing in good faith and have the moral strength to accept you may be blind to some realities and reconsider your beliefs.

  • Conservatism by definition is thinking "Things are good right now, let's not change anything" or even worse: "Things were better before, let's go back to that".

The issue is "better for who"? Women, queer people, POC, working class people were NOT ok. Implicitly you can see that conservatism is bigoted by (at a minimum) ignoring or misrepresenting the realities of people they don't care about. It's just that lately, more and more conservatives are explicit about it and showing their true colors, but the philosophical underpinnings are the same.

  • This and having a fuckton of scummy users being sent our way by accounts like Libs of TikTok. Harassment will be unbearable and large-scale, especially for tiny instances.
