please don't call me a fed i posted a few times on the chapo subreddit if you call me a fed i'll cry and piss my pants please

  • There's a little bit of that. A lot of the anti-Zionist resolutions call for us to join this-or-that coalition, and a lot of the electoral ones call for us to form some kind of left-labor coalition as part of running for office (such as recruiting candidates from unions). In general, you're more likely to see united front stuff being hammered out locally on specific issues. The PSL chapter in my town likes us, for instance, which I don't think is necessarily true for their national org (jack can correct me, lol).

  • would love to know where DSA and the members you see are going with their thoughts on China, Russia, Iran

As with many things, there's a huge range of opinion. Probably the broadest statement I can make is that DSA is overwhelmingly anti-war and anti-intervention. There are a lot of strong resolutions regarding Palestine on the table this year. Also a few foreign parties, including delegates from Cuba, will be here.

curious about their revolutionary energy, and their thoughts on the Democratic Party

A common topic! Zohran's recent win has added a lot to the debate, with both the "dirty break" (only use the Dem ballot line if necessary, otherwise run independent) and the "realignment" (always run as Dems and take over the party (lmao)) people calling him a win for their position. There are resolutions up for debate that call for creating third-party ballot lines which DSA can use, and we are likely to see some kind of commitment to a big push in the next couple of elections to establish a presence in federal congress.

As far as revolutionary energy, there's no resolution for forming an armed wing yet

  • uhhhh, i don't think this doxxes me so, hi, i will literally be there. ama if anyone wants to know anything.

edit: to answer your question, yes there are multiple caucuses that present themselves as ML. the most notable ones nationally are Red Star and Marxist Unity Group

  • As a website that is (someone correct me if I'm wrong!) overwhelmingly American, I assume it's like this just because more people are actually familiar with the full electoral context in a way that most aren't for other countries. I'd guess that if this site was majority Estonian or something, local election discussion for that country would be very controversial.

  • Doctors I have worked with have all been like, "If you want prog, that's fine, but I'm not sure it will do much." My own experience has lined up with that - I took it for about 18 months and it just made my tits hurt for a little bit and nothing else.

Of course, as with all HRT stuff, it's all very under-studied and there's a lot of highly variable anecdotes and pseudoscience. Some people say it gave them huge tits and crazy libido, maybe that happens for you.

  • In my experience it's the more polite thing people to my right on international issues call me irl instead of just calling me a tankie or something.

  • People who know people who would know have confirmed to me that he does have a security detail.

  • I won't bore you with all the details, but yes. The details are currently what's being worked on, but there is a consensus among DSA leaders outside of the "right" caucuses that DSA needs to begin experimenting with operating as a fully independent political party where possible. I could write a longer post if you're interested, but it would be mostly internal politics stuff.

  • Pod Save America

  • You are correct. I'm definitely speaking to my personal ambitions lol. DSA is in a stage where they're trying to figure out what a successful socialist party in America looks like.

  • NYC-DSA has seen a massive increase in members during his campaign. His campaign has created more socialists that have joined a political party. For socialists in the current environment, I think that's one of the best outcomes of electoralism.

  • How very convenient when one's analysis requires them to stay at home and do nothing.

  • I have spent a lot of time talking shit about NYC-DSA and I must now shut up and listen. Amazing work.

  • The very same!

  • The ones I think about the most are the ones that reek of some kind of sexual pathology. Like Trump and Putin kissing, or Trump as a baby in a diaper, or the weird amount of signs with Trump shitting or pissing.

  • Many of my own comrades disagree with me on this, but from my experience and talking with others, I see the primary utility in socialists running for office to be gaining membership and increasing organizational capacity. Regardless of whether you win, you always gain new members from the campaign. And hey, if you keep it up you'll eventually have the muscle to actually win.

  • As a fellow grass-toucher, this post goes hard. I have never in my life been to a more libbed-up protest but I was happy to be there with my comrades. I think many armchair organizers are far more worried about appearing the same as liberals when instead they should be worried about making more socialists.

  • This is better than my previously held analysis of "damn nyc-dsa is annoying" lol

  • This is NOT very materialist of me, but my opinion of this guy has just gone way up
