  • Not that you aren't entitled to your opinion, but software running on a Tesla is, in many ways just as mallaible as code on a vacuum robot.

There are several challenges, but basically the protections stopping people from reading and writing firmware would need to be defeated.

I think there have been some software jailbreaks on earlier models already that have been patched, but software is complicated, it's hard be bug free.

  • Yeah, the nobody wants to work bullshit sticks out here particularly to me.

Imagine doing backbreaking labor and you come home to not afford a damn thing. There's no way they don't see how expensive it is just to exist, but then snub their fellow Americans who are also trying to put food on the table.

  • Put that shit into my veins

  • Sick, this is a genuinely cool piece of hardware history I wish we had a chance to explore more.

  • Yeah that is fun, credit where it's due, compilers do a lot of cool work behind the scenes.

  • I mean, the comic is fine I guess, but if it implies the Cpp lady is hitting you, it's not. That would be the kernel, the lady did what you told her to do.

  • Could you imagine if Russia violates this ceasefire too? The propaganda....

  • Thanks for clearing up the source for me. The classic Enix SNES font should've been a giveaway though

  • Louder for the sleepers in the back.

  • Yeah, a lot of this RTO business is some misguided perception that the wealthy work the hardest, and are thusly disproportionately compensated. They don't realize how hard everyone around them needs to work to keep things moving and give them their lifestyle.

The workplace can feel like a prison for most workers trying to do their job, even if it's what they like to do. For these CEOs and people at the top, it's a space they built for themselves, of course they want to go to the office.

  • Whenever I see the Purble eyes icon I think of that Zoombini educational game.

  • Yeah but a human can still interact with it. Mostly for optimizations or making more translations, but generally "it's not for humans" would be a bit overloading

  • Lol why do they have to do things in the most cartoonishly evil way?

  • To be a pedantic dick, those aren't really programming languages. Their purpose isn't for writing at that level.

  • It... Kind of was though, IR gives us a way to translate higher level concepts to lower (but not the lowest) level representation. It also gives us a way to optimize before machine translation.

  • I mean, it's a good post but it's not like it's some kind of deep revelation. The explanation of who he is and why he's doing these things is pretty obvious, I think. You don't get to be the richest man on the planet without being a manipulative, narcissistic dick head moron.

  • Since this is the place for the most serious discussion:

If US lawmakers focused on protecting American's privacy with some sensible privacy laws coughGDPR equivalent cough, we could avoid pulling out the ban hammer to play whack-a-mole on these companies.

Companies would simply be punished by the law for being malicious or irresponsible with your data, forcing industries to take privacy seriously and make investments in protecting and not leaking it.
