  • Same! I think it is nice to have something developing that isn't as overwhelmingly frightening as lots of the things in the works right now. Like this is high stakes and says alot about corruption in America, but like at least it's not something that could potentially put me or my loved ones in harms way.

  • It's going to be so interesting seeing how all of this plays out. Will meta succeed in reclaiming their market share? Will a new app take the throne? Will congress just keep banning any app that is too popular and not under the american oligarchys control? Will trump somehow leverage this into him being the one to save tiktok? Will loops UI ever be good enough to compete? Only time will tell.

    What a strange timeline we live in lol

  • I'm so sorry you went through such a terrible schooling environment. I work with neurodivergent kids and its so sad to see and hear about some of the 'methods' people think are appropriate. It's truely heartbreaking knowing it's not just you but an entire school of people who were systemically abused and further disenfranchised.

    I hope you are able to find a way to heal and move forward in your life, i know how sticky trauma can be.

  • From what i remember, it has to do with the noise of flowing water. Bevers find the sound annoying and will cover it until it stops.

    I remember a study where they played river noises from a speaker and the bevers covered the speakers with sticks -- even in the absence of any water.

  • They can happen to anyone. Some hypothesis why they happen include: uv damage to skin, hormonal imbalences, malnourishment, and genetic factors.

    I once had one on my shoulder and it really weirded me out lol

  • It's locked so I would have to verify it in order to do any kind of resetting passwords and stuff. Which requires uploading photo id and a video of my face. I don't really want to do all that, so I'm hoping that it being locked is enough to keep it from being used by hackers.

    I honestly just stopped using it so long ago & hadn't even thought about the account until my sister told me it got hacked. I don't care about having access to it, I just want it to be effectively useless lol
