  • I try to avoid python for two main reasons. While coding, white spaces. Who thought that was a good idea? While using, shared dependancies, again who thought thay was a good idea? I have to use pipx or manually make a venv otherwise python scripts start breaking each other. May as well just package it with its own dependancies from the get go.

  • We use duo as 2fA for our Microsoft accounts at work. Every Thursday its log into teams on phone log into teams on desktop, log into outlook on phone, log into outlook on desktop. Why can't your apps cross authenticate on the same device? How does one drive manage to stay authenticated throughout the whole process?

    Any actual work I need togets done is done on a 15 year old think pad running Debian. The beefy 12th gen i9 just whirrs its fan around and occasionally gets used for emails, team chats and logging up tickets.

  • The hopefully only car I'll ever total was about 20 years ago. I bought it for 7k and drove it for 5 years. They initially lowballed me at like 3k. I was able to show them Kelly blue book values and current used market it was closer to 6. Ended up getting a little over 5k.

    Of course in the 5 years since I got the car the used market was nothing like it previously was. A comparable purchase would have been 12k not 7k.

  • I mostly use qobuz when out and about and vinyl at home. Music streaming is the one streaming media I don't find objectionable as a consumer. All the services have pretty much the same catalog so pick based on features. I still buy my favorite albums though so the artist actually gets money.
