  • None of those have nearly the visibility of their older versions. Lower slanting roofs, chunky pillars, less visibility.

All those trucks are small for modern times but not small. All modern trucks also sacrifice bed size for cab size because most people aren't using them for truck stuff anymore. They just want a truck.

  • Exactly.

  • Working with robots at work x is horizontal y is depth z is vertical.

  • Yup pinto accounted for almost 2% of cars on the road and just about 2% of fatalities due to fire. Plus it has a way smaller death rate per car due to fire than the cyber truck. Sold over 3 million cars and there were 27 fire deaths. I think the cyber truck fire deaths are in the 5-10 range for roughly 20 thousand sold.

  • The mandatory safety features are required because the mandatory fuel economy features mean more aero dynamic cars with worse visibility. We have mandatory fuel economy on cars so dumb big ass trucks can just guzzle gas like there's no tomorrow. We can't have regular sized trucks that get decent fuel economy for some reason that has to do with chickens.

  • Maybe stuff from middle school - sophmore year of high school. By junior and senior year I definitely evolved my musical taste. Definitely bands I still listen to somewhat frequently like Pavement, Wilco and Yo La Tengo as well as stuff i haven't heard in 20 years but doesn't make me cringe like Deathcab for Cutie, Taking Back Sunday and Brand New. On the other hand middle school self loving My Chemical Romance (super early in their career) yeah that makes me cringe and I would not enjoy whatso ever today.

  • After 15 years of android I cannot get used to my work iphone. Everything about it is wrong.

  • I got three different playa phones. One for each part-time shorty.

But I really have a work phone that they pay for because I am absolutely not putting any work shit on my phone. No teams, no outlook, no workday, no authenticators, no emergency alerts. I think a guy who got fired was using it as a playa phone or porn phone. My boss said his data use was always maxed out and everyone else used roughly 1-2 GB.

I only take it home on weekends on the rare case i want to check an email or request time off through workday. It does come in handy while camping/road tripping. I charge it up and turn it off then toss it in the glovebox as an emergency phone.

We used to have pagers as recently as 2022 which seems way more sketchy for the time but i miss them. Always worked, only got important notifications, smaller.

  • Dog and guitar.

  • No arabic #s no 0, no 0 no binary.

  • V

  • No zero in roman numerals. All the computers would break.

  • I think worrying about if your actions will "lose your man card" is the surest way to "lose your man card."

  • Yup, got em here too. We get provided either lanyards or extendable clips for our badges at work. Overheard a group of contractors saying wearing the clips made you gay. Its the dumbest shit I've heard. How can wearing an ID badge be anything?

Wearing the clip on your pants makes way more sense since the badge readers are all at waist height.

  • It also feels more about submission to me than a joke about homosexuality. When regular people hook up or are in a relationship it doesn't seem like submissive act but between two powerful men it does.

  • Just went from Bazzite to Steam OS on my TV PC. It's a little less flexible but I don't use desktop mode for much on the TV or want to install anything outside a few emulators and external game launchers. I've had too many updating issues with Bazzite over the years. The recent deal breaker was sunshine broke preventing it from updating.

  • Why is no one going after wolff? He clearly knew about the pedo ring and covered for epstein.

  • What are you talking about. It has nothing to do with the speaker being too close to your ear, its because they were an awful design. Regular earbuds get the driver just as close and are still made, but arent very popular. The style has trended more towards in ear monitors because they seal your ear canal and get better bass. Due to the sealing IEMs are probably worse for your ears if you crank the volume but you probably don't need to crank them as loud since they provide some passive noise cancellation.

  • Headphones are absolutely fine. I tend to crank music and have 0 loss in hearing over the last 10 years (we get annual hearing tests at work for OSHA). I do have a significant hearing loss in one ear but that is genetics and hasn't gotten worse in 3 decades of using headphones.

Just don't turn it up so loud it hurts, and once you find an initial good volume don't turn it up later. You acclimate to the sound level so it seems quieter.
