  • Floppies read just fine today with usb drives. I read and write floppies for a bunch of weird, old computers at work just fine. I expect that sata hardware will still be pretty accessible in 30 years even if it isn't standard on future PCs.

  • I took my motorcycle test about 5 years after i had been driving a car. It was just an obstacle course since i had plenty of driving experience already. I did everything perfectly and come back pleased with my performance.

    The tester says i failed because i blew the first stop sign and walked to go inside. I ignored the fist stop sign because it was about 2 feet from where i started. I was in complete disbelief. She got to the door and came back and said kidding but that I did lose points because of it and any other mistakes would have pushed me over.

  • Not at all. I love peanuts but hate peanutbutter. I also love hummus. Its way tangier and not as thick as peanut butter. I have found a few local brands that are dry and thick that I can't stand.

  • Bandcamp has given me some good recs if you go to the bottom of the page of an album you like it will have some suggestions.

    I like qobuz as my streaming service. It has terrible algorithms but well written human articles about genres, bands, labels with links to important albums.

    I also like browsing the record store and picking up an album based on cover. I think you can 100% judge an album by it's cover.

  • This is quite a new change for us. Decades of the most incompetent politicians makes me very cynical that the new regime will be any better. Usually we get a very progressive bill to vote on, one i usually agree with and want to vote for but is clear there is no system in place or even real plan to support the bill if it passes. See our recent failures in drug decriminalization and gun control. Both things I believe in, but decriminalization passed and was a complete failure and the gun control measure was so poorly thought out that it will be a decade before a reasonable measure will be proposed again. Don't even mention Wapato prison. Plenty of good intentions but absolutely squandered by incompetence.

    Writing all that it still sounds better than a red state.
