  • The message was clear: the defence relationship between the United States and Australia remains strong

    That's unfortunate,

Paraphrasing thay shit bag Kissinger, to be an enemy of the US is dangerous, to be a friend of the US is fatal

I wonder what the US would say if we flewmoir miltary airfavt sonclose to IS airspace ? Why dont we tru it ip near Rissia ?

The US is shooting randoms out of the ocean. Fuck those guys and tjwir war crimes... and we should be pulling back in every way possible.

  • Its why he resigned hia lifelong Liberal membership in disgust and worked with Sarah Hanson-Young (Greens)

  • Tegridy Farm ?

  • Sure and perume was becase you didn't bathe ... And yet we still use both

  • You'd have to be stupid not to, a lot.of tuoid people out there though and ironically it's why weirw in this mess, as this poll indicates (why not 99%)

You just roll with it, same as you do with "anxiety" about your own mortality..

Rees bluntly states, “the human enterprise is effectively subsuming the ecosphere” and “wide-spread societal collapse cannot be averted — collapse is not a problem to be solved, but rather the final stage of a cycle to be endured.”

  • in the telephone, which you could always just not answer.

  • it hit me while masturbating in the shower,

    What hit u ?

  • Adam Smith also pointed this out.

Unfortunately we live in a system that makes them necessay, like taking a shit is necessary.

And alas we don't vote enough for folks who might like to try to chanhe things to something like Vienna.

  • There was an interesting bit in Dave Graeber's "Debt: The first 5000 years" that starts off with a bit about that atrocity.

  • That would jatve to be Obama surely?

  • They're asking about the "app store" you use, Mint uses Flatpack by default (I use Mint as well). When you open the App installer you can see on the screen that it uses Flatpack

I cna feel your pain, I was there 2 years ago :)

  • They'll be Flatpack, not Snap with Mint

  • So you never actually read Malthus ?

That aside, better with 20 billion ? 100 billion? Presumably you have a line where u think " mmmm maybe too many people " So what informs that number for you, assuming some number less than 100 billion ?

My thoughts are we should let science inform us rather then them random feelings amd also allow other species to exist. But go right ahead, tell is why some random number is best ?

EO Wilson oponed 250 Million was about all the planet could support with a resource intensive lifestyle.

  • Well designed communities with active commuting would help, cycling to work or cycling to the trian station and then walking to work. No need for a car, save a fortune there. No nees to drive to a gym to walk on a treadmill.

Along with active communities that encourage people to go outside when they are home eg walkable areas to parks, walkable to events etc.

Maybe work but China is big on 996 exhausting work culture, not as obese

  • Commies /s

  • Not that it really matters for climate change reasons, as to have any success there we'd have to move away from Cars as per the IPCC and climate scientists

    https://mass.streetsblog.org/2022/04/22/international-climate-report-demands-systemic-changes-to-transportation-and-urban-planning/

but also makes clear that simply replacing gasoline with batteries won't be enough: cities must also dramatically curtail the use of automobiles and avoid "locking in" future emissions with more car-dependent infrastructure.

    And a Climate Scientist

    https://phys.org/news/2022-11-expert-comment-future-electric-fast.html

"Only by curbing all motorized transport, particularly private cars, as quickly as possibly can we tackle the climate and air pollution crises"

We're already building GWs of new coal to make ecars

    https://mastodon.social/@Snoro/110868169284217016

With only a couple weeks of diesel/petrol reserves you'd think hawkish conservative dipshits would be pushing ecars constantly as a national security solution. We have endless bast solar and wind reserves

Don't get me wrong, everytime some ass cunt in an ICE car or ute comes past as I cycle, I curse the stench and pollution, so, at least with ecars I don't get to have that shitty "experience"

  • Good, lets GO!

  • This was a big bear of mine decades ago, I gave up trying to convince my local MP at the time it was an issue.
