  • As someone who lived in a neighborhood without an HOA, I completely agree with this. I had so many bad experiences with the neighborhood without the HOA. Aside from people not taking care of their yards or houses, including one person who replaced their grass with laminate tiles, there were much worse things.

There were constantly cars parked up and down the streets blocking your view and making it impossible for two cars to pass. We had two neighbors feuding over parking in front of each other's houses. One of them decided to line the curb with cones. And the other would just leave their trash can out 24/7 blocking the curb.

I had a neighbor start a computer refurb business out of their garage. Which caught on fire at least 3 times. One time it caught on fire and there were so many cars parked on the street the firetrucks couldn't make it to their house.

The neighborhood I live in now has the perfect balance. The HOA is run by a 3rd party who does not live in the neighborhood. And all rule changes require a meeting and at least half of the residents need to be in attendance before it can be taken to a vote. This keeps one neighbor from taking things over and turning into one of those nightmare HOAs you always hear about.

  • You and me both

  • Clicking Next redirects you to the App/Play Store

  • It's really sad because the artists have little to no control over this. It is the venues who are contracted through Ticketmaster.

I remember Pearl Jam suing them for this in the 90s. Unfortunately, Pearl Jam lost and here we are 30 years later still dealing with their monopolistic tactics.

  • Sadly, I tried desktop mode in Firefox and still got the pop-up

  • You're talking about the same company that charges a "convenience" fee for ordering online. Then if you decide to go to buy them in person you charge a "facilities" fee.

  • Trying to view them through your browser will bring you to this pop-up. And it says you can't use screen shots or print outs.

The only other option is to use a mobile wallet, but that prevents me from sending my friends their tickets, since I purchased them all together.

  • That doesn't work anymore. If you follow those instructions you'll receive the pop-up I posted.

  • IMO, the early 90s was a golden age for movie effects. There was CGI but it was so primitive and expensive it was used sparingly. Like you mentioned that blend of practical and special effects was amazing.

Another great example of this is Terminator 2. They obviously used CGI for the T-1000 but then they actually flew a helicopter under a highway overpass, drove a semi-truck off a bridge into the LA river, and blew up an office building.

  • Well that's going to be in my head for the next month

  • I still get the theme song from it stuck in my head from time to time, and I haven't seen it since it originally aired.

  • Eddie Hazel is one of the best guitarist ever. For those not familiar just give Maggot Brain a listen. It was completely improvised and record in one take.

  • I think this is a fake quote that somebody made up for an Internet comedy bit

You can tell by the pixels

  • This was the early to mid 2000s. I honestly don't remember the specifics. But I do remember the emails coming from somewhere in Eastern Europe, so it may have been some crap system on their end that treated each reply as a unique conversation. Which could be why our Exchange server kept replying.

  • I'm old enough to have experienced an Exchange server being brought to it's knees due to two out of office replies fighting back and forth with each other.

  • Had to look it up, he is the head of Threads

  • I tested out Ubuntu, Fedora, and Mint before landing on openSUSE. It by far has been the most stable. Especially when dealing with my Nvidia GPU and getting CUDA working.

  • Ten Foot Pool was my first thought too.

I saw them live back in the 90s when they opened for AFI. They put on a fun show.
