It's a struggle to not constantly feel shame about aspects of myself that are not fully under my control and I had no idea until deep into adulthood.
That reminds me of a post I saw spreading some ableist bullshit and full of people shaming others who already struggle: https://lemmy.world/post/33167860
The dbzer0 admins and users are definitely creating a problem where there is none, even if there are some anti-AI trolls.
Take a look at this thread where a dbzer0 user was harassing people and using a handful of accounts to manipulate votes: https://lemmy.world/post/32430859
Multiple admins and users came around to start shit about anti-AI when the problem had absolutely nothing to do with that at all.
Needs a third panel where the person is home on their computer using some bullshit AI to generate garbage facsimiles of art stolen from all artists within the range of both the other panels.
That's part of the problem. People assume an alarm—or some other '""simple"" solution—would solve everything. There's a fundamental lack of understanding, then, worsening the issue, people are judged based on that non-existent foundational comprehension that people don't always work the way you do.
It's simply not up to us. We can try, and sometimes succeed, but it's simply not within our control.
Thank God this image not only has the label "Venn Diagram" but also has a big red arrow pointing to the center and labeled "things the two parties have in common". I had forgotten the name of this extremely common diagram and I also had no idea how it worked.
Thanks. That's nice to hear. Being "cool" isn't as important to me as not being interpreted as someone intending to be an asshole. I wish people assumed the opposite, instead. I may come off like an asshole, but my intent is the opposite and I want to spread happiness and knowledge. I'm just bad at conveying my intent and meaning.
Definitely not mine. First, too many people don't actually pay attention to realize it's not "fuck" and surprisingly too few people get the joke considering Lemmy is so Linux crazy. But most frustratingly, people just assume I'm an asshole because of it and then treat me like I am. Sometimes I really regret it.
I'm a fan of the emdash over the semicolon
