Yep. I'm pretty sure. But we have to distinguish "organic input based produce" v/s regenerative agriculture, which is also "organic". And there's a huge gray area in between.
You guys are mixing too much concepts here. Non GMO doesnt necessarily mean organic. A lot of seedless varieties come from hybrids, not GMOs. IMHO though, GMOs and seed patents are the way of bringing capitalist concept of copyright into plants and food. It's not good not being able to have your own seeds and grow them.
Organic food? Please let me take that out of your list. Organic produce has a huge lot of benefits over industrial, to both the consumer and the environment.
I agree. You are helping in the short term, but in the long term, you are not. In the long term, you are empowering a monopoly that steals their freedom.
I did the same of you. I reached a high level as a google guide, was invited to google map meetings and everything.
And then I suddenly realized all my efforts were just helping this company get bigger and achieve more monopoly. The terms of use of google maps state that everything you add becomes property of google.
And then I Found OpenStreetMap.org a lovely community in which you really are building a community effort in which there is no company monopolizing and all data is open. Sadly, you can't import all the work you've done on google maps, because now it is copyright protected by Google. So we have to start again, but it is worth it.
OSM is the future if we are to hope for a fair future in online maps.
AAMOF, I install Fedora Kinoite (Like silverblue but KDE plasma) to people coming from windows, first GNU/Linux Experience.Practically unbreakable. does its work.
The admin of the matrix room contacted me afterwards. They feel harassed by threads like this and also feels that this thread is having positive comments towards GrapheneOS censored and only negative comments kept.
Ok. Yeah, commenters are right. First of all, congratulations for switching. Enjoy ubuntu as a great first step. If you have issues, consider it might be ubuntu and not linux as a whole. In the future, consider other options like the ones I gave. Sorry for the not-contributing comment.
I have been a member of the graphene os matrix room for some months, hoping to someday get a pixel and switch to it. I am a software advisor and have recommended GOS to a lot of my students.
I have just posted a link of this lemmy thread to the matrix room, with no special intention but to share and talk about this. It took 3 mins or so for them to delete the message and ban me.
So, this totally and radically confirms for me that Graphene OS staff is not a nice one, and that they obviously fear something, being incapable of talking openly, so I wouldn't trust them.
Thanks for the heads up.
don't worry. this probably isn't for you... yet...
anyway, why did you install ubuntu??? who misguided you? you should have gone linux mint DE, mx linux, Fedora or something like that. Ubuntu was great... 15 years ago.
Sorry if I sound too hard... take it with a laugh 😁
Yep. If you are not having fun, probably pick something else... Although you have to know that sometimes you have struggling stages and you should persist.
