  • So what it's saying is that it doesn't need 24/7 recordings to profile us in a way that's profitable for them because we are some basic bitches, right.

  • "Im so tired of hearing that getting set up is easier in bluesky, you can do it like this on mastodon"

"That didn't set up my account, which includes getting a healthy following base"

    ...

"That's not the discussion we are having"

I'm another person but, are you sure it isn't? Setting up the account is not only creation, it's all the tweaks until it's useful for the user. If the user needs connections and searching for them is harder (due to how search works currently with federation) then setting up is indeed harder on Mastodon, which is the point the one you are responding to is reinforcing.

  • Dunno, I prefer french to spanish tbh. Maybe its because basque is like French.

  • Agreed, I love people that own their mistakes.

  • Not necessarily, I usually downvote comments where there are enough rebuttal replies but I still disagree heavily with what's being said. I am able to provide the Nth coherent rebuttal but I'm just either lazy or I don't want to contribute to the spam.

  • Vos is something only reserved to royalty and nobility outside of Argentina, I felt kinda offended lol.

  • An addendum to the ll, Elle. It's not like ey-ya, that's wrong pronounciation, it's like a literal vibrating L.

You might be referring to the same phoneme since y sounds like the soft J you are referencing, but yeah.

  • We have several dialects in Spain that talk different. We all write proper neutral Spanish though, determined by the Royal Spanish Academy, RAE.

Same thing with Basque, in the tiny territory we occupy there's a dialect per fucking town almost with distinct differences. Textbooks teach the official neutral Basque though. We would literally not be able to communicate if there was no neutral dialect everyone also knows...

Saying "country dialect" sounds very USA American tbh...

  • They think that saying vosotros instead of ustedes is somehow a signal for us saying vos instead of usted. Fuck no we say tu-vosotros, the colloquial form of usted ustedes.

Argentinians use vos if I recall correctly the even more formal form of usted.

  • Thy is the super formal form of the conjugation, vosotros is the colloquial form of ustedes.

    Tu-vosotros. Usted-ustedes. You-yall. Thou-thy.

You have it backwards, it's the Latin countries which sound super formal and awkward to us spaniards.

  • Vos-conjugations are not a thing in spain though? You mean tu-conjugations?

  • In ye old notation ML was a subset of AI, and thus all LLM would be considered AI. It's why manual decision trees that codify get NPC behaviour are also called AI, because it is.

Now people use AI to refer only to generative ML, but that's wrong and I'm willing to complain every time.

  • 50k would be reasonable because the company then pays a big percentage to social security both for pensions and health service. I'm around that number currently, but if I account the amount the company pays to the government, not the money they withhold from be for taxes the money THEY pay to get for my salary, I would be around 75k easily. This is something a lot of people don't understand when comparing US vs EU salaries, then go to the US and get taxed plus made to pay insurance and shit until they end up with less disposable income than me.

Please remove the shitty EU salary interpolation. Thanks.

  • sure, but they could have programmed a stick with haptic feedback to help navigate the screen so you can navigate radio, gps, contacts or whatever else while driving. Slower than touching or the old buttons but as safe as old buttons.

  • but imagine if you could set it to the same time but different distance, it would allow you to teleport, that might be too strong.

  • I'm not even british and... how dare you

  • With no idea who those 6 are, I'd put my wager on the presenters of Top Gear.

  • eh, it's a wordplay with the lyrics.

  • probably because partner is pareja and that's gender neutral, while spouse is esposo/a and that's gendered. Spanish being one of the world's most spoken languages does have an effect too.
