  • Glass bottles are not always single use. Countries have systems to recollect them (empty bottles hold a face value), they get factory-cleaned and quality tested and each bottle can run for 20 or more cycles. The issue is more that it increases the transportation and handling costs and emissions because of weight. Bottles that don't pass the test anymore but did stay in the system can get near 100% recycled, tho the issues there are that it's usually downgrade (make dark bright again = hard) and very energy intensive (costs more energy to recycle than to make glass from scratch). Anyhow: not single use.

  • It's a big fat fucking truck or luxury suv with a battery. A normal sized electric car is a thing too, you know. Electrics will always need to be heavier than ice of same size and model, but that doesn't mean it needs to weigh 3000kg. Car are growing heavier and bigger not just because of electrification, but because of growing fragile egos and growing fears in a vehicle arms race.

  • That it's a arms race doesn't make it better for society as a whole. It sucks.

  • There's a different kind of judge now than the technologically illiterate?

  • It is real. People have gotten mad at me for saying the 1 general (in my opinion in that case not-gendered) word instead of the slight pause and adding *innen. It's quite difficult for non-native speakers to get used to it.

Meanwhile, in Dutch language, many female doctors, bosses, directors etc all prefer to be spoken to with the general "male" word, because they prefer to be spoken to on an equal term as their male colleagues and for the difference not to be made. Witnessing Germanic languages growing apart a tad further I guess.

  • It takes significantly larger amounts of pollution, energy, resources to produce these ridiculously large vehicles that are in many many use cases not the best tool for the job of transporting 1 to 5 people. Driving a vehicle for a longer time doesn't change this. Drive a regular sized car for 15 years or longer.

  • God I get triggered by these monstrosities. Something tells me that's exactly why the people who buy them, buy them.

Pass the pedestrian crossing extra slowly.

Report any of them for any minor parking violation.

Make them eat shit. If I could.

  • how much fuel would it take to burn the ego to the ground?

  • Commercial planes with high occupancy got somewhat efficient (until you compare to other modes of transportation), but private jets with 1 ego on board are incredibly fuel inefficient.

  • Which episode is that?

  • Sometimes shop around on amazon. Find something I like or need: look for the website of the producer or distributor, order directly from them. Usually same price, sometimes cheaper. Fuck the middleman.

  • Oof.

  • No it's just about moneymaking and education level. If you're a foreigner and highly educated and get a good paying job like IT consultant or doctor, you're an expat. If you're low educated and get a low paying job like construction or factory or no job, you're a migrant. One is liked more than the other, hence the difference they make. The first doesn't speak local language, but does speak English, and few people care. The second doesn't speak local language and no English and is disliked for it.How long you stay is not very relevant. AfD doesn't hare expats as much as other migrants, for example...

  • AND you get to enjoy the DB Verspätungen all the time! Possibly even cause them!

  • Why change what isn't broken, right?

  • It's an ad if the update is a DLC.

  • Because it's free in windows.

  • It's small, but growing very fast. While actual PC has stagnated, no?
