  • Yes, but actually no.

The bill of rights, i.e. first set of ammendments, are supposed to guarantee it. The framing of the original document did not include anything about our rights. Like - nothing at all what so fucking ever. Which kinda explains why those rights have been trampled all over by our own government so many times - they were an afterthought to market the main document to the masses.

  • Well, those fuckers captured the US government decades ago. Pretty much why the actual effect of actions taken by either party play out almost the same fucking way...

  • For me, surreal currently. Live in a somewhat more rural area. But surrounded by racist hateful zombies.

Every time I hear somebody having a conversation in a foreign language, I get a wave of fear in my heart. For their safety. The violence hasn't reached my hometown yet, but I know it's coming.

My father and I were estranged by the rest of my brothers; but now I must turn my back on him for the safety of my own family. He's lost. A whole life eagerly internalizing the hateful rhetoric of the Republicans. I've done my best, let him be a part of my life for as long as I can. But he is a danger to my children.

I've seen through the charade to the festering evil underneath all my life. But have never found the means nor opportunity to act against it, as I definitely was not born into wealth. So I do my best to focus on the small things, to find the good where I can.

    In short, it fucking sucks.

  • I could've told you that years ago, since I've lived in this cess pool all my life ..

  • The role immigrants play is involuntary, so blaming them is asinine. But they do fit in the equation. An average American has little to no financial security (by design), leaving many in a constant state of desperation. If anything, immigrants are even more desperate to make a living away from whatever situation they were trying to get away from, thus willing to accept even lower pay. But on top of that, many are manipulated into a situation where they are trapped in an "illegal" status and forced to accept sub-minimum wages or get deported.

Make no mistake, the vast majority of immigrants arrive here legally, but are then victimized by our capitalist class. And in the end, they get blamed for the situation. Fuck that.

The class divide all over the world needs to be destroyed. But that will require solidarity amongst the worldwide working class who have been brainwashed into a completely illogical fear of their peers, just because of an imaginary line drawn by sociopathic fuckwit pedophiles, who do not, and never have, deserved anything even resembling respect.

  • Who cares where he was born? Oh, sorry does that mean he's not white enough???

  • ...a counterpoint that this is not necessarily bloat. It's debatable that this is the right tool to have this feature...

    That's called bloat.

  • Nuclear testing?

  • That's it? That's why you're being such an arrogant prick?

Huh. You do you, I guess...

  • Facebook specifically was aware that teenage girls were especially harmed by their algorithms, so naturally, instead of reducing that harm, they leaned into it.

  • You do have a point; anything they tried to put forth as an argument might very well get the lawyers involved censured, perhaps even disbarred.

  • Right?! Until there is substantial, and meaningful, reform, we're still screwed.

  • An option they have been exercising a lot recently. Only to often get the case dismissed right away once they do manage to indict.

  • This i can get behind!

  • Sounds a lot like taking the role of Dungeon Master in a D&D game. Your goal is to provide a believable world and NOCs as a backdrop for your players to tell the stories of their characters adventures. For me, it was like having a whole fantasy world running in the back of my mind, and I'd often surprise myself with how that works would react to the heroes.

  • Who cares?

  • En, why pay extra when there's always Bobbitty?

  • Fyi

    Jump
  • Frankly, for that jackass, I don't think it would have made a difference. He's dumb as a box of rocks and has no skills that anyone can point to. I mean his followers mostly grew up poor as hell - you think any of them are capable of art?

(My apologies for insulting rocks. But that was simply the only analogy that I could think of at the moment.)

  • God does it suck that what you're saying makes so much sense.

    Worst fucking timeline ever
