  • I think nukes are a pretty standard example, we talked like that as kids, and this is actually what I was thinking of with the original post. Nobody has an obligation to protect the weird insecurity blanket you think should shield you from all examples of international politics. Why international, by the way? Does being reminded of the outside world frighten you for some reason? Anyways, Meta Knight’s main issue is his moves have priority over all other characters, passing through their heavy attacks to interrupt them, even his light attacks (the attack used for comedic effect in the video is just a gimmick), making the fight completely unfair in a decent player’s hands to an annoying degree. I once unknowingly used it in a tournament without proper bans, and beat people who were much better than me. There is a nation that has achieved S-tier deterrence on the level of a nuke without even assembling a thermonuclear bomb, which they could do quickly with the current level of refinement. With their ability to pass through interceptors and the most intense EW environments (fancy new antennae adding no significant weight) in the world with their projectiles, accurate down to 5m with newly acquired Chinese satellite technology. This analogy is a stretch though, as their opponents are mentally childlike but use overpowered characters.

  • I don’t think that’s a dumb question at all. McGowan’s work is a psychic lodestone for parapolitics people for a reason. It does point to a lot of interesting material, but its analysis becomes a layer of misdirection that people can carry with them for years. It evokes my own childhood paranoia of mind control and aliens, it’s the only subject other than religion which can bring back that unreality. I have always wondered how it feels for other people. If I had read that stuff at a more bewildered age, it would have linked those two fears together and warped my perception of the entire cold war. To quote one McGowan fan, “Stalin was roofied”. That’s not a good line of inquiry, it’s leading people away from examining the Soviet mode of production. It presupposes one betrayal by a leader caused the fall of the USSR.

This goes for Eye of the Chickenhawk too.

tl;dr - I have decided I owe you a book report on here. I mine McGowan readers for offbeat historical trivia.

  • Quirky translation + at time of reporting it was unclear what even caused it, since they were already in the area they probably set off an explosive device, whereas “Israel bombs Lebanon” might imply air raids, which were reported separately.

This is all the most closely-linked pro-Hezbollah news outside of just posting Central Military Media directly (they repost it), but they’re not consistent with phrasing. Al-Manar, PressTV don’t 100% of the time refer to it as “the illegal Zionist entity” or “the third unprovoked war of imperialist aggression”.
