  • I don't think there really is a good job that's easy to get, not without what you may need to sacrifice.

And I'm talking, whether you're okay with living out your comfort zone. Long commutes, potentially living in hotels or cities that have nothing but a Dollar Tree and chain-plaza stores that have nothing else going for them.

Those are things one has to factor in.

  • No I wouldn't.

E-Mail is an essential tool and so is using a search engine. When ProtonMail was offering a subscription just so I can have multiple folders, that turned me off.

I hate that what is deemed essential, is turned into a monetizing scheme. God forbid those of us lived in a time where search engines were useful and e-mail was perfected. Now we're in the era of monetizing everything so those two features have been enshittified.

  • I like the sound of Schumerats. There's no ounce of Democrat in him.

  • Despite Chuck Berry predating them by 2 years. Elvis, Buddy Holly and several others making their crafts.

It was exactly the same case for metal music. Black Sabbath is hailed as the founders of Metal music, but there had already been seeds planted for the genre to blossom anyways before they were a thing.

  • The thing about inventions is that, a fair amount of them will have a name tied to it who you've never ever heard before. But you'll most likely believe the name that is tied to it but should be more credited with refining the invention to what it would be. And one poster clearly explained that.

There will always be someone somewhere inventing something, but there's also opportunists out there ready to pounce, take up the invention, patent it before someone else does and run away with the credit.

  • "I mean...you know...it just sounded like a good idea in our minds. So uh...will you please be with us next year?"

  • And nothing will be done about him.

  • That's why monopolizing is bad for IPs.

Nothing is more apparent with the child and the toys analogy more than what Disney has been doing with Marvel.

  • That's okay, not like your soup isn't jacked up to shit with sodium. People are tasting more salt in your shit-ass idea you call a soup than the actual so-called ingredients you put in it.

  • Man, look at most of these well-off parents splurging on their kids. Are you sure the economy is in the sinker? /s

  • Eating boogers strengthens your immune system.

I mean, it's plausible, because the idea of building your immune system is exposure to some of those things. Not trying to invalidate the other methods because those should be a better alternative. Some studies suggested boogers can help.

  • The moment I catch a driver who has the bumper sticker or window decal of a stick figure with the 'It' on the right side humping it, that's a person with 60 IQ right there.

  • 9 years too late, but I'm eager to know where this will all go. Should've happened in 2016 and we would've never have suffered not one term but two terms with the Shithead-in-Chief.

  • Yikes and I thought Lindsay Lohan looked worse. Has anyone seen what she turned into? It's out on display on that Freakier Friday cover.

  • We are going to see a lot of this happening for years to come. Where this administration will literally and has done throughout this year alone. As they try to dismantle one government agency after another only for the leftover and relatively sane representatives remaining having to step in and be like "no, what are you doing? are you trying to throw this country into anarchic chaos?"

This administration: "UH-HUH!" with a dorky dumbass looking grin.

And yes you'd be right, it was Congress who passed a law that included the creation of this agency, Obama signed it into law. So once again, unsurprisingly, this loose-excuse of an administration breaks the fucking law. Because of course that's all that they're good at.

  • I've approached Star Wars like, there are pieces of it I really do enjoy and love. Like lightsabers, they're fucking awesome. Some of the gadgetry, the tech and stuff is fucking awesome.

Everything else like about the whole Force thing, Sith/Jedi philosophies and everything in between, that's neither here or there for me.

That's the same approach I'm having with lots of other big, overinflated pop-culture things. I'm here for the appetizers, but not the entire meal.

  • Then they're probably not interested in, once again, not finding an ACA replacement. Heres to pissing 3 more years away kicking that can down the street again.

  • In middle school, we had a tech class where we had bundles of electronic junk and we could tear them apart more to see what is inside. We could also try to understand the components and how everything worked and came together.

  • It's easier for him to say this when he lives with his mommy or daddy, working part-time that he considers "work hard" and chugging down Monster energy drinks like the good capitalist doggie that he is.

  • Linux @lemmy.ml

Does it ever bother some of you that "I'm switching to Linux!" is just more of a way to appear rebellious than actually committing to the choice?
