  • hand over half its mineral wealth, no? "agreement to hand over half of his country’s rare earth minerals"

even mild half-lie clickbait is brain-stupifying misimplication.

from what i understand most of the resource heavy regions of ukraine are in the east/controlled by russia- that most of these minerals are not even of cost-effective value to mine and obtain...

but then, what do i know, all i see is mere cracks in the western monoculture narrative of 'russia bad'.

zelensky wants security guarantees. seems security guarantees are in short supply-- nobody gave any thought to russia's priority for same.

educate yourself- you'll be hard pressed to find a more honest and reality based summarization of the russia ukraine conflict, what caused it, chas freeman is an ex US ambassador and consummate professional, i trust him more than i trust random shills on the internet, and a lot more than US news media propaganda.

  • real quick: how do these options develop if we keep telling ourselves that?

  • if two parties are both ignoring the population, maybe a third party should be considered a more serious option.. this settling for lesser of two evils amounts to a lack of vision- have you have stopped believing in accountability? is it merely impossible and pointless to think about?

  • "I voted for Kamala to prevent my own gay daughter from being part of Trump’s genocide."

  • in my opinion they're terrible and their strategy is terrible, they are movement vampires that choke out the grassroots.. they assimilate young people by speaking to issues they never seem to address. they have shown time and again they will say anything to remain in their do-nothing stop-gap positions...

  • 'if if if' nevermind what is and has been happening... a party should lose support for genocide, especially when that side is ostensibly for social justice.

  • reddit is promoting divisive conservative rhetoric? that could just be conservatives being conservatives. this is a moment of strength for them and their cause. they could be rallying in awe of what is taking place-- you don't have to like it but maybe stop trying to push everything you don't like or agree with out of every corner of the internet and learn to promote your own rhetoric better. it probably didn't occur to you that they (conservatives) do make up a large percentage of the population of this country.

  • and that's my prerogative as a voter. are you here to shame me some more? about the genocide i won't overlook to vote for kamala harris? the same kamala harris who reversed her position on fracking? who wanted to fund nato even harder? you're gonna tell me she represented a positive position on climate change?? and bath-tub of collard green kamala harris is not doing a damn thing for civil rights, so where are you coming from with this?

  • i think you're too kind on the establishment democrats.. what is distasteful is their absolute refusal to represent anyone but their donors.. biden wouldn't step down until it was 'too late' to have a meaningful democratic process so we got de facto kamala appointment.. what kind of party is this? she did not even win her own home state when she actually was involved in a presidential primary. the democrats are terrible and deserved to lose. one could be forgiven for assuming they wanted to lose.

  • it is safe because i didn't allow myself to reduce supporting genocide to a trolley problem.

  • and sometimes you have a conscience that doesn't allow you to rationalize away complicity in genocide

  • i don't think he's much much much much worse, that's too many muchs- maaaybe much much worse- and that's neither here or there.. genocide IS a reasonable red line and you can't gaslight me off my solid footing in that regard.

  • axis of evil and has been. you vote democrat, you vote republican, you vote for genocide. simple as.

  • i can see them as a funny inversion as well, for instance: you can't accuse mtg of faking her passion, crazy as it can get.. aoc on the other hand is not convincing to me.. maybe she can change my mind, but she was disappointingly late to speak up about the biden backed genocide and seems to be more of a token mouthpiece for a constituency that the democrats (at large) are distancing themselves from.

  • what i am referring to as typical is the assumption that criticizing x puts you in y camp.

  • typical reaction

  • burnt out on aoc's lipservice and inefficacy..

  • i can still allow for them to be misinformed and or differently oriented- so not necessarily evil. as for fucking them over, i don't care so much about that directly- i have more modest ambitions. i want people to see how often there's a great big elephant in the room that you're really 'not supposed to' talk about. eating 20 downvotes for an innocuous comment is revelatory
