It’s not ads, I don’t get them, haven’t done for years.
The page is fine on pc.

Batteries do not last forever.
These dodgy companies have it far too easy with apathetic consumerists. No wonder the world is on fire.

I use corded, have previously used rechargeable AA mice though, it’s not an issue and you don’t have to worry about the built in battery ever being the problem with the mouse.
That website is horrible on a phone

Nah, non-propreitary or the mouse can remain unsold.

I wouldn’t buy a cordless mouse that couldn’t use rechargeable AA’s or AAA’s. Consumers really need to take control, these companies deliberately create ewaste.
I switched to noai.duckduckgo when startpage went ai. It is a lot better than when I tried duckduckgo in previous years, and definitely better than startpage was. I haven’t noticed any issues with search returns.

Why people post youtube links expecting people to CLICK them on lemmy

Government and logic are strangers.
The form online to request a paper census still requires you to use your phone number for verification, but I still see that as preferable to doing it online where I am expecting a 3rd party app for face verification, google chrome, windows 11, a blood sample, and a scan of every book in the house.

That link does open.

I look forward to them also making their own water, and pc parts too.
The Australian government is never going to do the right thing in relation to ai, or data centres.

I couldn’t be bothered putting more thought into a username
Your mind needs to go for a walk in nature :P

I hope it doesn’t get continuously robbed and vandalised during construction…
Game controllers can generally be used that way too, so you pose a good question.
The only logical answer might be because they want to create waste, and consumers have not demanded that they offer corded/cordless mice.
