  • 6201RS

    • 6 - type code: single-row, deep groove ball bearing
    • 2 - series / robustness: (2 corresponds with 'light', which is more durable than 0, but less durable than 3 or 4)
    • 01 - size code: 12mm bore (inner diameter)
    • RS - grease seal: rubber seal one side (no seal would be '6201', both sides sealed would be '6201-2RS'. Z and ZZ are used similarly to indicate presence of steel shield(s))

The 6201 is a good fit for this application, and providing the gerbil wasn't too hard on it, should last a long time.

  • Is rsync.net a good service for backups?

    Jump
  • You cannot use rsync with Backblaze, nor zfs send | recv. If these are important to you, rsync.net might be worthwhile. That's it, really.

  • Common misconception, you actually did.

  • Are we mostly in agreement that free will is an illusion, then?

  • I agree with everything you said, except the "rather than" sentiment. It sounds a lot like the "stimulants don't make people with ADHD high, it just makes them normal" folklore - this is not how anything works, though: people with ADHD can get high on stimulants just fine. Perhaps "getting high to cope" would be closer, but op basically said this in the post.

  • iperf3 showed 2.5 in both directions?

    -R reverses direction

Also note it can be set up as a daemon - I like to have at least one available on every network I have to deal with.

  • Ideally before they start turning, and possibly also before they hit the brakes.

  • If the topic is important enough to warrant this level of concern, then the use of sarcasm is necessarily contraindicated. If it isn’t, /s isn’t going to save folks who are unwilling to take even a few seconds to engage their brain; it’s actually a great filter. In the case of humorous sarcasm, nothing kills the joke faster or more completely than announcing, "dw guys, this cute bit of edginess was not meant sincerely, it's just a joke!".

And a bit of implicit ad hominem for you: do you know where Poe's law originated?

  • /s is fucking obnoxious.

  • Articles and headlines do not exist in a vacuum. 'Context' is not even remotely straightforward.

  • I think they are taking advantage of the fact that Mozilla just changed CEOs; folks will be skeptical, and that is worth a few clicks. Even the beginning of the article is more ambiguous than it needs to be. These organizations (not Mozilla) exist solely to get attention, and should not be given the benefit of the doubt here.

  • This isn't a reading comprehension issue.

  • ew

  • Oh no.

    :(

  • Sorry, what?

  • If you're having a party or whatever: touch *

  • That's weird. Stop it.

  • It's also a study based on self-reporting from caretakers

Is this better or worse than other forms of self-reporting?

As cool as technologies like fMRI are, we have not reached any meaningful degree of objectivity in most psychological/neurological pursuits.
