  • I ran Linux 1994ish. Amiga OS before. Amstrad CPC 464 before. A friend ran Sinclair ZX-80, that was the first system I had access to.

  • If you care about freedom, use open source operating systems, and only buy hardware that support it.

  • I knew it since 30 years ago, but got officially diagnosed at 52 or so.

  • Because it's propaganda fearmongering.

  • "Our interviewee likened the prospect to Russia restricting gas supply to Europe after its invasion of Ukraine. “Probably 99% of people would have said ‘No, there’s no risk [of that happening].’ But it did. We saw it. And I see the same risk here.”"

Oh, look. Let us back up new lies with old ones. People are going to fall for it again, for sure.

  • Unnamed security researchers refusing to name the vendors or even show the evidence.

    It's not even a story.

  • A billion people isn't a small minority. You and me are part of it.

  • As a fellow member of these 10%, do you?

  • No raindrop feels responsible for the flood.

  • I think of us as the golden billion. With the consumption still growing, mostly with China's help.

  • Ah, I've never seen those. Between Youtube that asks for login when on VPN and uBlock origin I don't recall ever seeing these.

  • I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • I read only one community on old.reddit.com, with VPN on. The moment they start asking for login there will be the moment my last contact with that site goes away.

  • Well, it looks like shit. I hope GrapheneOS will stay free of it.

  • Yeah, lots of young people apparently. After the second 24" screen of my dual screen (primary is a 32" QHD) started dying I've ordered a curved 44.5" DQHD 1440p as a replacement. Will arrive tomorrow, I hope I didn't make a mistake by not ordering a second 32" QHD instead.

  • Most but the oldest mechanical meters cannot run backwards. Whatever you don't consume is gifted to the grid.
