  • I could tentatively agree with "invention" of computers, but to say he didn't use them (or hardware that could be classified as such) to further decryption efforts of messages in WW2 seems a little insane. He was pivotal to those efforts and to ongoing advancements in the field of computer science.

    I don't even understand why you made this comment. Turing was for all accounts a leading and influential mind. Why try to take that away from him? He wasn't a bad guy.

  • Legitimate question: are you ever going to watch those videos again, ever?

    I don't go to concerts as often as I'd like, but when I do I'd far prefer to take in the moment myself vs. trying to capture it on my phone. I'm there for an experience; not a recording.

    If that action makes your night better, so be it. I won't get in your way. I do, however, get annoyed when I'm trying to watch an act and some idiot's phone is held above their head, blocking my view.

    Each to their own, but personally I don't "get" it.

  • From a UX perspective I disagree. 1password wins at UX hands down but Bitwarden is a very close second and IMO has better privacy guarantees.

    Security is useless if it's too difficult. Despite liking Bitwarden I am a 1Password subscriber and happy with my choice.

    There's nothing wrong with feeling a modicum of empathy for those less fortunate by circumstance of geography or socioeconomic influence.

  • Sorry, all you get is images of a maxi pad to indicate enormous damage for what was likely a graze.

    An attempt on a former president's life is a big deal, whether I think he's a human dumpster fire or not.

    However, the way he played this up was and is ridiculous. He didn't need to prove anything. Someone shot at him and that's not in doubt. Instead he chose to milk it and I personally find that ludicrous given the circumstances.
