What they want is stories jerking off their egos for "changing the world", which in reality equates to them burning through start-ups, capital, and public resources to benefit their own personal wealth at the expense of everyone else. The stupid fucks can't even realize that Black Mirror is about them. They ruined the future and I'll never forgive them for it.
What a stupid fucking idea for a contest. "Press a button until something interesting pops out. Best button pusher wins." Glad it got subverted like that.
I'd say Terraria is more of an RPG than either of the other two, if that matters. Boss fights, gear progression, etc. It's amazing, but it's not quite the same. There is still a lot of building creativity space, though, if that's your jam.
Fallen into several arguments in Lemmy about exactly that. People give it way too much credence to what is functionally a eugenicist's nightmare. I have no hard feelings at Mike Judge or even the movie really, but it's fiction, not a warning from the future. Honestly, people need to stop treating fiction as documentary evidence in general. At best it's interesting thought experiments, not something one should base their world view on.
What's really funny is that he still could've faked it. Like, it would be simple to talk on face cam while someone else plays. This showcases his deep narcissism that he is buying his own pathetic hype.
Relying on elections to oust fascists isn't exactly a great plan.
