I used to be on kbin as e0qdk@kbin.social before it broke down.

  • Yes; the word OP was probably thinking of is tonkotsu -- which means pork bone. They've imitated the style of tonkotsu ramen using turkey carcasses instead of pork bones.

    Looks tasty OP!

  • There's a lot of indie stuff on there, yeah. We've got a (slow) community over at !bandcamp@piefed.social if you want to see some of the things people on the Fediverse recommend from Bandcamp or share your own finds.

  • Couldn't find lewds, but I did find this...

  • Bandcamp sells music DRM-free.

  • Some thoughts:

    • You could try it, but if you fuck it up it sounds like a great way to give yourself some nasty food poisoning. FYI: boiling kills most pathogens, but doesn't always break down the compounds they produce -- which can still make you sick.
    • If you live somewhere with hard water, you will get scale build up on the sides of your pot. If you boil just plain tap water in a pot and let it air dry repeatedly you will see this happen; with other stuff in the mix, the build up could get really nasty... I use vinegar to clean the pot I use for making tea when the scale builds up too much; it may be worth trying to add some vinegar, lemon juice, or other acidic ingredients periodically to try to stay on top of this?
    • Mixing some alcoholic beverages in occasionally may be worth trying -- both for the anti-microbial effect and for flavor. e.g. I used to put red wine in beef stew when I still drank, and beer in gumbo.
    • If you do try it, take notes on what works, what doesn't, etc.
  • Is this one of those Rorschach test thingies? 'cuz Matacorp's territory kinda looks like... 🫢️

  • Wow, I didn't realize. How time flies. 😲️

    Thank you!

  • The fifth instance denied my application with, "read the coc and reapply"

Don't know what instance that is specifically, but if their application process is anything like reddthat's lemmy application process, there's probably a bit in there about something specific you're supposed to include in the application so they can weed out bots.

  • "why does what people say affect a price? You either value something to the extent you value it or you don't. It seems dishonest."

There are other kinds of values being exchanged besides just an item and money when you are haggling. e.g. time. You're not just offering less money for the item -- which would not be appealing to the seller at all -- but less money right now instead of the uncertain(!) possibility of getting the higher asking price later. That can be very appealing in some sales situations...

  • Is that... Hatsune Miku modded into Mario 64?

  • CrossCode is probably on the fence of what you're looking for.

  • I'm not familiar with that one. Link please?

  • What is the best way to get Minecraft Education (not regular Minecraft) on Linux?

Not familiar with that version of Minecraft, but looking it up it seems like there's a Windows version of it. Have you tried the Windows version under WINE/Proton already?

  • Personally, I like just plain seltzer water. (i.e. just carbonated water with nothing added.) Mixing it with a bit of plain (unsweetened) cranberry juice is good too if you want something more flavorful.

Chilled barley tea is another good hot weather drink. It was a summertime staple when I was in Japan.

  • This won’t fix parents just buying a device to palm off to their kids, because if setting up parental controls is beyond them, setting up an account for them properly likely will be too.

Sure, but this limits companies liability if they make a good faith effort to comply; idiot parents being idiots and not setting up a kid's account are no longer their problem, legally speaking, if they follow this law and respect age signals.

  • It's already happening. California passed a law to require OS vendors and online services to support this functionality last month.
