Yeah but your comrades are at least leftist. In many so called "vegan activism" orgs there are a lot of libs and people who say "no politics here".
My litmus test to organize around it is to check whether they use the term vegan or antispeciesism to describe their activism. The latter usually implies at least leftist people in the org.
I mean that's speciesist ideology in display. That's one of the most common argument I encounter when discussing anti-speciesim. Humans can do whatever they want to other species because they are the best. Along with "How dare you make analogies between human and non-human suffering"
Yes that was my criticism as well when I read this report a few weeks ago. In their methodology and questions they never define what is "democracy" letting everyone answering these use their own definition.
The most important metric is whether the government is serving the people, listening to their needs and swiftly implementing those.
Same here in my country. I've stopped looking at the weather reports and just improvise most mornings before work this year.
