90% of the US has none of that. Nothing walkable. No trains. No buses. No sidewalks. I've lived in places with transportation pretty decent, but the only option where I live currently is cars. We are generations away from what you're describing. Making cars more expensive isn't accelerating the development of alternatives, it's only making people suffer and more and more angry.
It's not the first time a cop has shot someone driving at them. I'm no bootlicker. Everything about most cop interactions are fucked. But they won't find it to be an unreasonable use of force.
When quoted in churches, it's usually quoting from the letter 1 Timothy:
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
1 Timothy 6:3-11 NIV
Yeah I've had the tent I was sleeping in broken by a bear while solo backpacking. I didn't end up needing to shoot it but I always carry bear spray and a gun when I'm solo camping in bear country.
They also have a history of not giving a fuck and finding excuses to get things done even if it's bending the rules. When European countries were paying tribute to the Barbary pirates, the US didn't have a declaration of war but they sent naval boats over essentially with the instructions "don't start it". They didn't start it, and it wasn't over super quickly, but they did finish it.
I mean, I understand that it was his office that implemented the program. There are video clips from when he was running for vice president where he's bragging on the program and saying it could be implemented across the whole US. I'm not saying he was in on the fraud, but I don't know how easily he really could have gotten around being the fall guy here. He owned it, he had to go down.
I've never had a two weeks vacation. I'm 52.. If I have 36 hrs off in one block I go camping.
