  • Okay but like, how could you miss Lichtenstein? As long as it's in scale, you should be able to know it's the smallest country on the continent and go from there.

  • I dunno, seems pretty good for queer spaces and shitposting, but I guess .world doesn't know much about either.

  • This is kinda the underlying problem with modern political discourse. One side has gone so far off the deep end that there's genuinely nothing of value that they are adding to the conversation. "The Jewish Space Lasers are manipulating our weather" just isn't a position that is worth entertaining.

That being said, it's still worth reading the literature of the enemy, even if it's just to know what kinds of ridiculous statements they're holding as truth. If you don't know how your opponent's worldview was constructed, what hope do you have of deconstructing it?

  • The thing is, the boomers of the past were wrong because none of that media was promoting violence. They were making it up.

The Tiktok algorithm promotes violence as a fast-pass to fame. It rewards people for making abhorrent trends with clicks.

  • I would argue that Citizen's United effectively made it impossible for non-elites to meaningfully effect the US political process, forcing us down a road where only those who can raise the most money are considered eligible for political office.

  • Finally, you can make the skeletons dance to whatever you want! and play it in the background of your low budget Halloween horror movies

  • I'm always surprised by how small the Steam Deck playerbase is. It has such strong word of mouth, but the niche it supports seems pretty small.

  • It's been an open oligarchy since Citizen's United. Seems like a lot of people are just now seeing the effects of what that decision allowed. Our Supreme Court was already corrupt, but because they at least maintained an air of dignity, people just looked past the death of our democracy.

  • Considering most Americans read at a child's level, I think they're right about their target audience.

  • Oh boy, can't wait for the Israel government to sponsor some e-sports tournaments to engage in a little sportswashing. Finally, it'll be their turn to ban all the Muslim players, as opposed to countries like the UAE who typically ban Jewish players!

  • Hey, I also watched DanDaDan!

Tbf, I think there's a pretty big dip from the super popular anime to everything else that was nominated this year. I ended up giving up on voting, just because there was category after category where I'd only seen one or two of the shows listed.

  • Probably because you're a child.

Sorry but I work with college students, if you're not 25+ you're another one of those children to me. Your writing style is very similar to theirs; it's very stream-of-consciousness with overuse of punctuation to try and accentuate your "points."

Grow up, get your spirit destroyed by the world, realize you can keep living without it, and I'm sure other adults will start to treat you like one.

  • Why would you be surprised? Why are so many people really believing that there's some mythical good core of the Republican Party?

They're all Nazis. They supported a Nazi who wants to install himself as dictator for life. At this point, there are no excuses. Everyone who didn't want to be a Nazi had 8 years to leave the party. Everyone left is a fucking Nazi.

Stop expecting Nazis to have any morals.

  • This is kinda why using the pardon selfishly is always disgusting imo; it invites a constant analysis of "why did you pardon X instead of Y?" First Biden tried to make it "okay" by blanket pardoning a bunch of people, but that included a couple of people who actually deserved to be in jail. Now we're at the stage where we're looking at all the people who weren't covered in the blanket pardon but were unjustly imprisoned.

It's just a cycle that doesn't end. I understand our justice system is completely broken, but it's not like Biden attempted to fix it at all.

  • right, but now the cop has to shoot their gf.

Which given the number of domestic abusers who are cops, still probably aren't crying.

  • The bastards in power haven't received any consequences for raping children, why do you think this would be a hard line for anyone?

Americans have shown again, and again, and again, and again that they do not value children's live's in the slightest.

  • It'd put people in jail back in the day.

Good thing rule of law has completely collapsed for everyone above a certain threshold of wealth, otherwise you could hope for consequences.

  • Bannon seems like he's identified all the pain points Americans are feeling, but has the exact wrong ideas on how to solve all of them.

  • I mean, the most telling part is the instance where most of the triggered users were from. Little hint, it wasn't blahaj or any other queer-friendly instance.
